Cs' angle here is that atm they are leading the polls, so they wanted Rajoy to call an election instead of standing down. Now Sanchez is President, he can do a few things 1) rule form a few months, build up his cred THEN go for an election (likely after resolving Catalonia in some manner) 2) make a pact with PODEMOS to form a gov and call early elections down the line, 3) make a pact with the Cs themselves, cucking them into lesser partner status 4) call for a single dissolution of the senate (which is majority PP atm) to test how well he can do/remove an opposing force/let the Cs burn themselves out. Also by rejecting Cs'terms, Rajoy has fucked the Cs by making them vote for him, which next election can be used to fuck them over. Sanchez, while being a blairite fuck, is a clever operator I'll give him that.

Decent take, although have to disagree with the adoption stuff: the most the Spainards took from the arab world was the concept of sub Saharans being good slaves and the loteral buildings themselves. While the Islamic golden age itself was over by the taking of Grenada, I can see no evidence of Spanisn adoption of Arab technologies found through the once caliphate.
One interesting thing tho, lands taken quickly in war duringthe reconquista are better developed than ones taken by diplomacy & transfer of vassaledge.
