Hey Zig Forums, I'm out protesting the G7 in Quebec City. Why aren't YOU out here with me?
Weather is good, no tear gas from the pigs so far. Although there are helicopters flying all over the city and the pigs are literally on every corner.

I know very little about the G7, what reasons do people have to protest them? Give me something to read
FFS
Well, I wouldn't fly all the way to Canada for that.
Also, that's not a real political struggle. What could you possibly achieve by throwing trashcans and trashing window stalls like that? Nothing good would ever come out of this.
Then you clearly aren't doing enough.
Trust me, the cops are trying to restrain themselves.
May Day in Montréal was fucked.
Unless you have the means to actually stop it happening (which you don't because they'll get together and coordinate anyway) there isn't much point 'protesting', it amounts to bad optics and costs for the state, big deal. If you can't stop it then you should hold mass rallies focused on educating and broadcasting a series of clear messages against the elities and their imperialism while advocating a clear program. 'Protest' is worthless garbage.
It's agitation, just like boycotts.
Because I'm not a jersey socialist.
Fooking autocorrect. *jetset
Because the G7 is only a manifestation of the superstructural control of our society, there is no point in attacking a branch of the tree. Unless you think you can trigger at least a national revolution with a couple other "comrades", you are wasting your time.
Are you protesting because they kicked Russia out?
They kicked Russia out.
You could literally say that about anything: protesting Trump, protesting far-right speakers, protesting Israel, etc.
...
Yes. Protesting about either of those you mentioned is absolutely useless in dismantling the modern neoliberal capitalist Estabilishment.
What do you honestly expect to get from those protests? The best possible thing would be them giving some concessions, which would only work against us by diminishing consciousness in the long run.
If anything, you are the porky's footman, since you are only useful to be labeled as a boogeyman to further fragment the working class.
Are you honestly claiming protests against Israeli apartheid are useless?

I wonder why people despise anarkiddies.
Mass protests DO have an effect, you wouldn't see massive police repression otherwise. Why are several countries banning protests, or heavily restricting them now?
Because I'm trapped in the US and have no money
Read my posts again. It's not that hard.
What do you SPECIFICALLY aim to get from this protest?
Most protests aren't even about concessions, they're about public displays of anger towards the system as a whole.
What do the Palestinians win by a bunch of white succdems rallying in the middle of NYC or Boston wearing keffiyehs and chanting mispronounced Arabic slogans? But, is it better to pretend this shit doesn't exist? See what I mean?
...
Because I live in the States, and unlike you kids in school, I have to work for a living, so no road trips to Quebec for me.
It'll be hilarious when the EU shits itself because of the new copyright law they're going to introduce in like 2 weeks ahead from now.
Trump is a dumbass, but really so are the rest of the people who participate in bourgeoisie politics.
Because I don't want to end up on a government list. I would rather not get liquidated by the secret police when the west goes full fash after the next big recession.
If you're on Zig Forums you're fucked homie.
Go get 'em !
The Palestinians win nothing from it. There are things you can do though, like supporting the BDS movement in your community - get your school or church or town or workplace or … to boycott the zionists. It's something that scares them very much, to the point of trying to legislate a ban against it.
The key takeaway is that a spectacular action like a protest just for the sake of being a spectacular protest has no point. From the few pdf's and folders I saw of the last big protest of the kind (Hamburg was it?) it semeed to function more like a kind of mini-festival, a social get together for crusty squatters and assorted folks, with some fighting with the police on the side. Unless it is part of a larger movement, and a demonstration of strength of that movement, it is just so much street theater. Even as an awareness raising tool it falls flat: for most people, all it will be is a short vignette on the news of hooligans causing trouble. You'd have been better of writing a sharply worded readers letter in a local paper. Apartheid wasn't ended by mere protest, it was the result of decades long civil society campaigns, with the support of various powerful political parties and unions, coupled with fundamental geopolitical shifts.
The propaganda of the deed is and has always been a farce, and it has become gradually less impressive ever since they blew up a Tsar without effecting any positive change.
That's not to say you're doing anything wrong by being out there and protesting if it is convenient for you. Just don't be too sanctimonious about it.
Virtue signalling is a waste of time and beneath me.
