Something has been bugging me. I can understand Americans buying into their particular ideology since it what has been shoved down their throats from a young age, but what baffles me is all the foreigners who come to America and buy wholesale into American Patriotism and conservatism. Many leading figures of the American Right aren't actually "American" at all, at least in terms of country of origin.
What's the deal with this? Or is it common for foreigners that take residence in a new country to become right-wing nationalists of their new home and I just wasn't aware.
Well what happens a lot is in Britain people get laughed off the stage for being fucking idiots, but in the US tgeybare lapped up. Vid related, she was a tory MP who moved to the US. youtu.be/3252FSW7OC4

What word was that supposed to be?
Noah Green
I don't think it has to do so much with rightism, so much as it's symptomatic of America being a country of immigrants. Despite the sputterings of a vocal minority, we're perfectly used to people with different skin colors and accents. Unfortunately, that leaves us susceptible to retards like pics related.

That's true, but I was wondering more what caused foreign-born people to become American nationalists/conservatives.

Didn't that guy spread his asshole goatse style at a redheaded 18 year old?

Because it's exactly how the parties are designed to operate. From day one the Republican Party was the racially tolerant bourgeoisie party, look at the relationship between Romualdo Pacheco (Spanish land grant holder) and Leland Stanford (owner of the Southern Pacific Railroad, largest landowner in California) as evidence. Despite the latter being technically the citizen of two countries (Spain then Mexico) he gladly accepted American citizenship, becoming Stanford's first lieutenant who was used to purge Confederates out of Southern California until Stanford bought his way into the Senate letting him become California's first and only nonwhite Governor.
Nothing has changed, the GOP still operates like this for better or worse. Just look at how they fucked themselves over in California, their donors demanded the total destruction of immigration laws because they didn't want to automate or deal with the UFW which lead to Reagan's 1986 Amnesty, which let millions of impoverished workers vote in elections by 1996 (the time when the CA GOP stopped being able to control the CA legislature). This is only somewhat ending due to all those immigrants' having gentrified children who are concerned about property and estate taxes, naturally leading to nationalist tendencies despite being anchor babies.
Eli Gray
Yeah this is also why the "parties flipped sides" meme is not really accurate. While it's true that the KKKers and their descendants are mostly voting Republican these days, it's still the party of the capitalist, bourgeois elite in a lot of places.
I'm thinking of Texas where I live where the GOP is dominated by commercial real-estate interests, and commercial real estate is often minimally taxed or not at all (it's often even subsidized – like this giant cartoon gas station). The only color these elites really care about is the color green. The contradiction in the party, however, is that it has a second voting base of middle-class suburban homeowners. While they're middle class, it's tricky to call them "bourgeois" – many are not – and their main interests are in traditional (patriarchal) family structures, low property taxes and good schools which are the key to their wealth. Their wealth is based in their houses and the land. The catch is that their property taxes also pay for the schools. Both classes oppose socialism, but the result is that the tax burden disproportionately falls on those homeowners and not the elites.
Nativism also unites these classes, as the suburbanites want to keep their neighborhoods white. The commercial real-estate interests do not want to kick out immigrant labor, but they want the labor to be subordinated with wages kept low. One GOP candidate in my neck of the woods (she lost in the primary, but represents this faction) is a bourgeois owner of an H2B visa company which supplies immigrant labor to various industries, including Trump properties. She ran on an anti-immigrant platform! (Let's also not forget the early Republican Party, in the 1860s, was nativist and had a strong anti-Catholic and Know Nothing faction … in addition to being anti-slavery. Know Nothings accused Catholics of being "enemies of the railroad.")
The Democrats are not worth mentioning. They are not a power outside of the urban cores and the border which have majority black and brown working-class populations, and even there, these politicians effectively act as compradors (posting a pic of one). The old, pre-civil rights white Democrats rooted in the land moved over to the Republicans, which are the bourgeois party.
Brain-drained people from poorer countries get to America and fall for the Capitalism/America meme because it's obviously better from where they came when in actuality it's really American/Imperialist powers and Capitalism being the main reason for their country being poorer. A Doctor from India or Africa is sure as hell going to be disillusioned with Capitalism when they get to America and they can buy a car/house which they couldn't buy in their native homeland and also be relatively free. So of course they assume that more capitalism would produce more America's instead of more third world countries being exploited by what they think saved them. Ironic
Just look at all the Cubans in Miami or reactionary Eastern Europeans in America with their burning hatred of "Socialism" which you would swear Stalin personally shot their parents all from the 80's/90's USSR

Dinesh living like the tea party still exists He's one of the last constitution fuckers God bless him

There's some famous case of this in Europe, but I don't even remember who - guy's like Malaysian or something with weird blond bird-hair. I think it's semi-common. And even when they don't necessarily turn to vocal rightwingers, the "immigrant is awkwardly enthusiastic flag-waving patriot" thing exists.
For yr amusement, here's an example from my town. An architect from Iran built this white house replica here during the first half of the Bush administration. Guy is very Christian - had tours of it early on, and I've heard there's stained glass church-y stuff on the inside. The shrubbery out front still spells "God
Overton window. In America, you can express basically any opinion as long as you are anticommunist, unless you are an ethnonationalist, and even then there have been vain attempts to change that part.
Bitch I'm a Cuban cigarnigger from Miami and fuck yes do I love America. I'm glad I don't have to live in that island shithole anymore. And every Cuban is looking to get the fuck out as well, to Spain, to USA, Mexico, Europe, anywhere.
Classical Marxism dictated that you need capitalism and from there things will develop into socialism. You braindead scum support debunked ideologies that prop up crypto-bourgeois. Different people, same bullshit.
Landon Sanders
I know many wealthy and/or bourgie immigrants. They love burger ideology because it sucks the dicks of the wealthy harder than any other
Tyler Ross
Yesterday i was waching a documentary about Cuba and most people said that they wouldnt leave
Hardly. Cuba sucks because of the US's economic embargos, and American gusanos are hypocrites that protest thawing relations because they don't want people to know they got kicked out for being ruling class parasites. Considering what Cuba has had to work with, it's done pretty well. Higher HDI than most of the second world.
Jeremiah Baker
Cuba seems like a very mixed bag, some of it the result of governmental policies, some of it the result of things outside of their control such as the collapse of the SU, and some of it the result of el bloqueo.
I think I'd categorize it as a failure insofar as developing socialism, but a success in proving the efficacy of what I think could be considered socialist-inspired policies or ideas. It's pretty admirable what it's been able to achieve with so little, and especially considering the circumstances it came from and what it continues to endure.
It's hard to tell what is propaganda and what the truth of the matter is sometimes though. For instance, reading about those Cuban punks (in the anti-establishment sense) that infected themselves with HIV to… I don't know, stick it to the man? The way they tell it, they were being harassed by the government, which isn't right however you slice it, but on the other hand it's in the context of the Special Period directly following the disintegration of their most major trading partner and economic supplier. They decide to infect themselves with HIV to live in plush conditions in the state-funded AIDS asylums which the punks themselves describe as being relatively luxuriously accommodated, with air conditioning, ice cream, and expert medical care, while many Cubans were going hungry.
The way it's portrayed in Western media, they're anti-authoritarian crusaders taking a valiant stand against Cuba's anti-homosexual agenda with a bold, self sacrificial political statement, but reading the descriptions that these so-called anarchists say themselves, it sounds more like a bunch of louts doing something incredibly stupid in order to abuse the government's medical system, hang out and play music all day, while thousands of their fellow cubans go without.
But I guess it ended up being a self-correcting problem.
Jaxon Russell
Cubans can pirate games Burgers have Ajit Pai Cubans have free healthcare Burgers have Obamacare Cubans have safety Burgers have over 20 school shootings in less than ayear. Conclusion: burgerland must burn.
Thomas Diaz
Also, you fucking gusanos are one of the reasons Cuba is so fucking poor by demanding the embargo stay in place.
Luke Foster
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD WHATS WRONG WITH GALVIN MCGUINESS'S FACE WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE IT'S POINTING DOWN
Robert Butler
Cuba punk is pretty intresting but i never said that cuba is flawless but nice post i guess
It is partially a policy failure, but Marxism-Leninism is a dead meme anyway so that shouldn't come as much of a shock to anyone.
Hunter Cruz
Geet Wilders. He is an Indo (mixed dutch-indonesian, his mom is an Indo and he was born in indonesia) and the far-right anti-immigrant politician.
William Peterson
It's like exactly like Soviet Russia in Cuba, you keep it in the trusted family/friends circle. Every Cuban (in theory, not in practice) is a member of the comite de defensa. So you never know who might hear you. You definitely cannot speak openly about some things.
I'm not a gusano.
Of course.
Which they earned by nationalizing and expropriating American-owned businesses and lands. I obviously don't support foreigners owning our best lands and industry but of course America would retaliate with the embargo. Gusano means counterrevolutionary, not just rich counterrevolutionaries. Most gusanos are economic migrants that come to America like any other economic migrant. The most affected during the revolution were the Americans who owned the businesses, industries, and lands. They were the ruling class parasites.
You are right. The Cuban govt. even gives transsexuals free operations, the Cuban government is not anti-homo. They used to be and even Fidel used to be but they changed that a while ago. Cuban culture is anti-homo because like all Spanish cultures a lo of emphasis is places on men being men, being masculine/macho.
With what internet? You gotta wait for el paquete, which means you gotta pay someone or have a friend.
I think most Cubans in America support removing the embargo. Only the Cuban-American lobbyist demand the embargo stay in place. Being exiled for political or economic reasons does not make one automatically a gusano.
Decide whether we demand thawing relationships or keeping the status quo and embargo lol. Pro tip: its the former.
Samuel James
And your other FOTM commie ideologies are wrong too. China proves that Marx was right and capitalism is a necessary step towards socialism.
Brainlet Che convinced Fidel that Cuba could just "lol we can just skip straight to le full gommunismo" and fucked my country.
Deng Xiaoping thought and Cockshott thought is what Cuba and the world needs.
Alexander Evans
Nations have foundation and hero myths. Ideally, anyone can embrace these hero myths.
It would be like someone moving to communist Russia and embracing Lenin and his revolutionary spirit as being something to strive for
Leftists in America don't have any hero-myths. Some liberals have tried to co-opt the founding fathers as being open to progressive social issues but that's just a total joke
Jacob Martinez
Americans in general, really.
John Thompson
For decades, "Cuban Exiles" as an electoral bloc backed the embargo and were the primary political force keeping it up, don't deny it.
James Jenkins
Good. Without communism there would've been less n*ggers in Cuba and my country would've been on par with America. And the filthy commies wouldn't have stolen my family's property and land, which we owned since colonial times, and given it to lazy n*ggers that won't even meet the governments' growing quotas.
You delusional filthy fucking Leninist commies are undialectical idiots.
Capitalism is progress, capitalism is dialectical.
You are just a jelly poor cunt, you family wasn't smart enough to immigrate to the first world from a total piss poor peasant family and create something.
Even Fidel's father came from a piss poor Galician family from Lancara and he became the richest man in Biran.
Henry Nguyen
Capitalism is why they had slaves/migrant labor there in the first place. You're not making any sense.
They would've been kept in line like we do in America. Keeping them an oppressed and dumb minority that has no power in society. It was like that before the revolution. Only the criollos held the power and wealth and on top of them were the white Americans that owned everything.
Austin Green
I wish we could send you back to Cuba.
Adrian Harris
"You" can't do shit, you fucking commie. Also I deserve to be here more than you filthy fucking treacherous America-hating commies.
The alt-right will rise. I've joined the alt-right and I want to purge every single commie like you. The only true old Marxists aren't braindead fucks like you believing in myths such as the "dictatorship of the proletariat".
