Socialists who don't seize on the vacuum of truthfully charismatic Protestant/Catholic inspiration that has been missing from both the GOP and DNC are essentially leaving that fiercely powerful tool to be picked up by whomever else picks it up next. If you don't effectively pick up that ball which was dropped by the GOP and DNC either one of them is likely to seize it at their nearest opportunity.
In fact, I'm stunned the Dems haven't picked it up already. I think they might be hedging on gay and athiest voters. I understand the RNC is struggling to control the Christianity narrative, because of Trump.. but the Democrats are just plain foolish for not even trying to utilize a Christian political narrative. They must really think there are a lot of gay or athiest voters, but honestly the majority of reliable voters in the U.S. attend Church. Chruchgoers are the types who vote at pre-primaries, referendums, primaries, midterms and basically every kind of election.

The people on this thread discussing envy, turning blind eyes and assuming the phrase "render unto Caesar what is Ceasars" means to allow Caesar to cultivate a capitalist hegemony have CLEARLY misinterpreted the life of the apostles and teachings of Jesus. They have truly drank Jerry Farwells kool aid.
Jesus was a revolutionary who was essentially crucified for opposing the capitalistic exploitation of the poor. Render unto Caesar can be interpreted in an Egoist fashion of focusing on growing the revolution as opposed to reactionarism about politically heated debates. Jesus encouraged turning a blind eye towards fellow proletariats who may have had disagreements, and clearly not towards class exploitation from the pharisees and aristocrats. Furthermore envy was used to avoid commercial capitalistic vanities such as luxury items.
A final note, many of the Greel words from the original Gospels were twisted to suit the hyper Authoritarian Roman rulling order during the Council of Nicea. You simply cannot trust the exact wording of the English Bible. Single words such as effimate (used in modern translations to mean homosexual but originally referring to luxurious living effimacy) mistranslated from the Bible have caused seismic shifts in entire cultures.
