Why does the Russian Federation not like the West or NATO...

A lot of Russian oligarchs have double citizenship's,store their money in the west, and their children study and life there. The reason why Russian oligarchs life in the west, but do not allow Russia to join the EU and NATO is because they need a bogeyman to distract Russian people while they rob the country dry.

Clinton promised that NATO wouldn't extend further than East Germany after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the idiots actually believed the West. This is in part what's fueling the conflict in the Ukraine, because the US wants to induct them into NATO, which would be like if Hitler made Mexico a part of the Reich.

Because while NATO is nominally an alliance, Russia on its own is significant enough to be a counterbalance to the US. Bringing Russia into NATO would obviate the entire point of NATO, which is to facilitate the organization of American vassal states. If these vassal countries could choose between supporting the US and supporting Russia within this organization, it would immediately start to unravel the unipolar design of the organization.

Friendly reminder that just because you oppose one imperialist power doesn't mean you have to support a different one

Yeah, a Russo-European alliance would be a strategic threat to American dominance, and so would a stronger EU. This is what Trump & the gang doesn't seem to get - providing security for Europe means Europe has entered a relationship of dependence on the US. If Europe starts pulling its own weight militarily, the alliance with the US will become less important, and American dominance will be threatened.

Kind of a moot point now that Trump is dismantling the empire in so many other ways, though. I didn't think I would live to see something like this.
