all for it nigga

Should have happened back in the 1940s tbh.

No, reason: no Jefferson.

the split between socal republicans (who would get their own state under this plan) and norcal ones (who would be locked into a state with SF) is obvious

It dont matter nona dis matters.

Yeah SF was never meant to be in Jefferson.

I'd back Calexit and Texit but not this shit. All this would do is increase the power of Republicans and the best situation is for Republicans and Democrats to be smeared as neoliberal psychopaths, not just one or the other.

Only South California would be Republican, yes?
But overall it would also increase the number of all Senators, if I understand this correctly.

BALKANIZED USA GANG GANG GANG

GANG GANG GANG

It would be a swing state, past time it voted Clinton by 0.6%.

sounds like a Republican gerrymandering scheme. in the short run it will probably turn this country even more into a god forsaken corporate landscape, but in the long run it will probably make socialism easier once the cold war era propaganda wears off.
I guess the short answer is that I don't really care.

The American state system is designed specifically to prevent takeovers. We actually need less states. If anything we should be encouraging the right liberals to start trying to lump California in with Oregon and Washington instead.

california is already the largest state, while shit like Utah, Nevada, North and South Dakota, Wyoming and all other borderline wastelands are separate. If anything these should be merged to some extent.

*one of the largest

Fuck no, it would increase democrat power in the senate way too much.

The more broken things are the better. Accelerationism is necessary right now.

Accelerationism will result in either technological singularity or total collapse of industrial society.
accelerationism isn't 'make everything worse so something will happen', also.
its a bit more like that the current trajectory of capitalism is a positive feedback loop that reinforces itself, and that its been too late to slow it down let alone stop it for a long while now. The only way out is through.
My problem with it is that land has made me think 'through' means either collapse and primmies win or the great machine of the capitalist economy gains autonomy and fills the slot we're in right now with AI and inhumanly becoming cyborgs.

This

It’s very simple, things are just not bad enough for the average person right now for mass mobilization. They have to get worse if there is going to be a popular uprising. The only other solution is a Blanquist putsch.

That isnt "accelerationism", though.

I have quite literally never heard of ‘accelerationism’ being used in this technological context, I have never read Land nor do I intend to

When I say it I am referring to it in the common marxist sense

Accelerating capitalism and the liberal order along their course so that their contradictions become apparent

Will never, ever, happen.

Calsplit no
Calexit yes

How on Earth do you think seats in Congress are apportioned? Splitting California into 3 would create 4 more Senate seats but the number of seats in the House of Representatives wouldn't change because those are split up based on population.

I've only heard this definition of accelerationism used on leftypol.

nah. the senate rigged against big states, as the founding fathers intended.

The point remains that the "split California meme" is a transparent attempt by Dems to increase their Senate seats - and will be treated as such by Republicans (who aren't that stupid to just give them extra seats)

as long as southern california makes it easier to own guns that current california

My gut reaction is to fear blakanization of my state but if happens I'm open to the idea

source: my ass

It would be a very unique and novel event but i dont think anything will happen. Life is boring.
I live in texas and there is actually a little known law that allows texas to split into 5 states if it wants to

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_divisionism

Attached: texas 5.jpg (610x579, 79.85K)

it wouldn't change anything, except giving republicans 5 more states in the senate and house

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 14.86K)

it depends they could be smart and have gerrymander them into probably four states if they used major cities in the correct way. of course this would require the democrats to be
1) competent
2) actually be a left wing party
both of these aren't true nor will they be true. So it will probably just let them pass some dumb bill when they are back in power circa 2025 ,that lets a market based solution to major cities collapsing public transit be allowed and not against it.

It's a plot by Republican party members to gain more power. The other one was a plot by porky to make more money.
