I Can't Get a Job

I live in Southern California, right next to a freeway, super overpopulated, I have to walk several miles to get anywhere on foot (don't have a car or a license) and I can't find a job anywhere. I'm stuck in my parent's house, rotting away, I just want to fucking die.

How do I find ways to productively spend my time? Does anyone know of any socialist groups in the Inland Empire?

Just make your own job, bro

You live in the worst neoliberal part of the USA.

Take down as many bourgeoisie bastards as you can.

What?

It's seriously hell. Volunteered at an animal sanctuary thinking I would meet Leftists, owner of the place unironically watched CNN and Rachel Maddow constantly and all the volunteers were the worst types of Democrats imaginable.

Like literally everyone in the developed world.

No, my house is right next to the freeway, and that's all it's next to. In order to get anywhere you either have drive on the freeway, or walk on the side of the freeway. Closest store is 8 miles away. It's literally a suburb, next to freeway, and then desert for 8 miles in both directions.

better start slinging drugs KKKracker

how can you not get a retail job

do you have any skills

WHO KNEW THAT

There aren't any. There's an oversurplus of human beings. There are literally endless people, more people than jobs.

You know what to do then.

move bitch

Go into skilled trades. Or take a 6 month IT course. Or move to a place with low cost of living like the rural south and work retail. Since you have free time, do some reading and do some activism. Most important thing is to get out and do something rather than rotting away at your parent's place

You'll probably have to get a car to find employment outside of suburbs, burgerland is not livable without one. A bicycle could work, a motorcycle also but you're putting your own life at greater risk.

Can you work for your parents or neighbors? Can you teach yourself some new skills you can do online, like programming? Do you have a degree in anything or work experience?
You should try and be productive instead. Mainstream socialist groups usually tend to promote policies that cause shortages in labor supply and barriers to work.

This is the answer bruh. Used to live in LA and was in the same boat as you. Moved to Texas and literally every business has a "Now Hiring" sign in the window.

If you want to stay there, the trick is to go into a big chain business and keep asking them for work on a regular basis til they hire you. It worked for my brother. Also sales and telemarketing are always hiring because the turnover rate is crazy high.

Obviously the people who jumped because who would want to stop living in the gayest city in the gayest nation the world has ever known?

I fell for the apply online shit(which you probably have to do as well.) But once you've applied online get to know the employees find out who the manager is and keep asking them to hire you. You have to seem really desperate for work.

P.S.S.

If you want to stay in SoCal learn EspaƱol hombre.

P.S.S.S.

Gas stations and fast food were the most common places to see help wanted signs in the window when I lived there if I remember right.

Listen to all the comrades here. Find a way to earn money. It's truly the only way to live life /s

why don't you buy a bike?

How old are you?

If you can, try to go to a community college or something. It's pretty cheap and will make you more qualified for jobs.

Also if you're applying for jobs and you have long stretches where you are unemployed AND out of school - it looks really bad. That could be one reason you're having trouble.

How long is a long stretch? I'm about 2 months and a half out of Community College and need to transfer.

Clearly someone must own a car in your household if you're able to eat. Why can't you learn to drive with it?

I would say at about 4 months - it starts to look really bad, but obviously ymmv.

Would the distances become bearable if they magically shrunk by a factor of 2.5? Because that's the effect of getting a bike (e-bike if it's a very hilly area).

If you don't care, there might still be a market for "spiritual services" on fiverr. It can take a little to set up but once it's good it's ezpz. I don't do it anymore and only teach people in dire straits.

Quickly:
Offer more value than the other casters, like say you have a team of five casting or healing or whatever.
Get your first review or reviews, buy them yourself if you have to.
Expand in novel ways. Sell lottery luck, sex magick, blah blah blah. Should be eye catching and new.
Respond to requests in novel ways but don't undersell yourself.

For the gig itself make it so that they need to follow a list of instructions that generally make their lives better anyway, but gives you a fallback if the spell fails. "Did you follow the directions?"
Overdeliver. "Oh I had some extra components so I gave you a $20 spell instead of a $5"
Offer to recast if they're unhappy
Win over regulars by offering them specials.

That's what I remember off the top of my head. Don't prey on the poor but have fun with the rich. I've sold $200 spells back to back, I loved dumb porkies.

Oh add some sort of ritual they need to do to make it feel real for them. The realer the experience, the better.

last thing, move away from fiverr when you have a big enough following. they take 1/5 of every purchase

move away from that shit country with no decent public transportation, come to Europe :)

so i'm getting kicked out of my place soon and I want to get as far away from here as possible. No friends to stay with, so hopefully somewhere I can get a job

said texas but i'm in florida and it just seems like more of the same. is there anywhere more up north that has a lot of help wanted signs? I really need to get out of here. a lot went wrong very quickly.

moving is incredibly costly

north east maybe, almost all economic activity is on the coasts these days
