I recently became a Leftist, partly because of me coming to the logical conclusion of Christian ethics (Resurrection by Tolstoy mainly), and partly because I discovered Zero Books on youtube (which holy fuck I like)
I've gotten the list of book I need to read (I began with Kropotkin's Mutual Aid, so far its really good)
Other than reading, what can I *actually do* as a Leftist to help further the cause? Talk to people? Volunteer? Get involved at YDSA?
You weren't around when that leftcom fuck invited a liberal that shouted anti assad propaganda? Or when he said that gulag archipelago is a muat read?
I don't disagree with you but you are siding with the people who call morality non existent and burn nuns for the lulz. Read marx, lenin and mao instead. Watch a few hours of photos of daily life in the ussr and come back as a smart men
You are admittedly new but got no shame to spout slander. You can go the fuck back to whatever the fuck you are, if you want information on how things works and what they look like I'll gladly post soviet data and theory otherwise go the fuck back

I don't support random extrajudicial rape and torture but the Church as a whole deserved much worse than it got.

Your best bet is probably getting involved in a local organization or labor union, though they can be extremely hit-or-miss. Just try to find one that focuses on economic issues instead of identity politics and such.
M8 you're talking about clergy members who were executed for literally kidnapping small children and infants and who sided with a murderous fascist regime during a civil war, it wasn't exactly "for the lulz". Also, Stirnerfags' rejection of objective morality doesn't mean people should start acting like sociopaths, its more about being honest with themselves as to why they hold such views and understanding why they aren't really objective.
Just ignore the tankíes

Oh great more moralists, worse of all christian moralists. Religion will end when the people no longer need their opium and the catholic church is a inherently shitty organization and has fought tooth and nail it's whole existence to spread it's genocidal doctrines and retain power. Even today it is complicit in the rape of tens of thousands of children world wide and double edged policies in Africa in the regard to use of Condoms and anti-conception pills.
A true Marxist wouldn't even use a disgusting christian communist identity and certainly wouldn't be one just because Jesus said some shit. It's entirely undialectical and unscientific stuff which Marxism is born of.
Not even a fan of christcoms but Marxists don't have a monopoly on communism
Christian Perez
Good thing by being dialectical I can choose the parts which Stalin did good on or parts where he may of failed or not done as well as planned and take note of them for future implementations of Socialism.
Unlike basing everything on a book translated though several ancient languages, written decades after Jesus supposed death from memory and stories, probably missing several verses and built upon a even more openly genocidal, racist older texts which justify everything it does and it's followers have to delude themselves with "faith" because overwhelming evidence otherwise proves the entire thing wrong. I like how christans can choose to believe in evolution, global warming and other proven things but then can't rid themselves of fiction.

True. Even Marx himself would say he's describing historical/societal trends and forces rather than creating his own unique t®ademarked/patented invention right? Correct me if I'm wrong better versed posters.

Moralism speaks to the people and is extremely resistant to revisionism. Deal with it. The west will fall and autistic atheism will fall with it. Also Yuri never said that shit. Khrushchev can continue to burn in hell for all eternity after what he did to the USSR.
Reading all forms of theory is good, even reactionary theory in order to know your enemy. Don’t be Muke.

Jayden Cruz
It's also unscientific and changes due to the conditions of the people. Teaching the bible in schools or something for the sake of keeping everyone in the same "moral" christian mindset is fucking barbaric and an insult to human intelligence and society. Religion was also promoted by the Nazi's so lets not pretend your moralism is somehow immune to it's own revisionism. Deus le vult and all especially in a world where GOD IS NOT REAL and any of your morals are easily subject to change based on who raised you and how your life was. The Orthodox church canonized the Tsar for crying out loud.
Speaking as a person who was brought up in country with absolute majority of atheists population, we view religion as delusion, as a relic of past. But churches(buildings) and cathedrals are treasured cultural heritage.
Only in burgerland can a faith of god be taken seriously, because people are kept uneducated and cannot reason what is the source of their rights and freedoms, and they mistakenly conclude that they are given by god. Or they might have a conception around these lines even though they do not vocalize it.
In fact, faith in god is an act of autism. Because it makes you feel like god or Jesus loves you, and that makes you also believe that you have an immortal soul. Such a selfish view that leads inevitably to obsession with self, hence autism.

I know you're new, and I was like this when I first became a leftist, but the only people who say shit like that are either new and need to hit the books, or retarded ⛏️rotskyists who eat up CIA propaganda and the Black Book of Bullshit.
William Brooks
Talking to people is the best thing. Organising on a local level. You can drive to all the big marches you like, it doesn't change shit. Since you brought-up YDSA I assume you are a yank. America is a wasteland of socialist organisations, but joining the D.S.A. is worth it purely to get in with their activism. Look to join other orgs, People's March looks like a decent one. They don't have to be explicitly socialist, perhaps they are single-issue related to your local area, but if you are there AS a socialist, speaking to people about basic concepts and pushing the dialectic it is worth it in the position that America is in. Oh also continue to read, not just theory but also history: specifically of successful socialist movements, those that failed and local socialist history.
Matthew Russell
Kid you need to grow up. Christian communism isn't about freedom. It's about fulfilling God's promise to the world by promoting communism for the world and revolutionary defeatism for the west (ESPECIALLY America.)
Hegel is a rationalized Jesus and Marx is a materialist Hegel. Marxism is a dialectical evolution from christianism Anyway, anti-christianism is sterile, you're beating a dead horse.
I really just must know, Christanon, why the religion? What convinced you?

Well I’m convinced of the historicity of the resurrection of Christ, and of Christ rose again, maybe what he said was true.
Juan Gray
What evidence is there of the literal resurrection of Christ? Mythicism is a big fuckin' meme but they have a point that there's not that good of a case for a singular historical Christ, let alone a resurrected Christ.
Well, what I think Tacitus mentioned Christ, and so did Josephus? And we have the letters from Apostles who knew Christ, and we have writings from people who were taught by them.
And we can also talk about the Resurrection. I guess we'd have to make the first assumption that Jesus of Nazareth was buried in a tomb after being crucified, and a rock put in front of the mouth, and two guards placed outside.
I'm sorry, I'm not much into apologetics. I think people who are think of themselves like St. Athanasius or like Luther, when in reality they're some washed up middle-aged man who didn't know what to do with their life and then became a preacher for the Southern Baptist Convention.
Luis Flores
Josephus would have been a child when Christ was live, Tacitus wouldn't even have been alive, so we're dealing with tertiary accounts. You'd have to prove there was a singular Jesus of Nazareth, and that the biblical account of the event was accurate, which it isn't where we can fact check it. For instance, the Romans literally never conducted the census alleged when Christ was to have been born.
Lucas Perez
The concept of history that is central to Hegel is deeply influenced by the eschatological aspect of christianism, and there is certainly a form of trinity in Hegel's god. Hegelian philosophy was molded by christianism, while depassing it. Christianism was an emancipatory doctrin, it was basically saying that the material world is the property of the humans, not of some gods or forest spirits, and it was much more materialist than it is today, for example the first christians didn't believe in Heaven or Hell (or more precisely they believed in it in a "materialist" way, if you're remembered as a good person after your death, you're metaphorically in "Heaven").
