Iraq Protests

Haven't seen a thread about this yet, apparently Iraq is in even more turmoil than usual:

al-Sadr has suggested his party and the Communists they're coalitioning with should with hold forming a new government until the demands of the protesters are met:

Some think this is a side effect of the US trying to cause disunity between Iraq and Iran:

Thoughts?

what are they protesting?

Literally read the first two sentences

To be honest I really wouldn't have guessed that "Muqtada al-Sadr will join the government and enter into a coalition with Iraqi communists" would have been one of the likely outcomes of the war in iraq.

they're protesting because its hot out?

Feels ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธbad๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ man

A coalition of communists and Iran-aligned Shiite Islamists are about to take power in Iraq, and somehow people still believe that the whole โ€œbumbling Empireโ€ thing is bullshit. Itโ€™s pretty obvious that US foreign policy in the past few years has been wildly incompetent and self-destructive, yet somehow people still think they are playing 4D chess in Syria and elsewhere.

Didn't we see this 40 years ago?

Jesus. Climate change/global warming is going to make certain parts of the planet uninhabitable and other parts will become a blistering warzone. Already in my city we are expierencing temperatures of 109F and people are getting heat exhaustion and crime is going up. This will really be the test for industrial civilization that will tear at its seams. We shall see if capitalism or humanity will make it out of this impending crisis

It's a bit different in the al-Sadr isn't as hardline as the Iranian government. Not saying Iran is worse than Saudi Arabia like neocons do, just that it's still technically a theocracy not that that means it deserves to receive some "help" from the USA whereas al-Sadr I believe has actually said he's interested in a secular Iraq, as evidenced by his willingess to work with the Commies.

I think we already know what the answer is m8

US Imperialist backed protests against the Anti-Imperialist / Socialist coalition about to seize power
Anyone who supports them ITT Should be banned

I'm not doubting this is the case as the USA has done similar shit numerous times and I don't know how I feel about the protesters myself yet but do you have a sauce on that or is it just your own theory? From what I've seen so far the nationalists and commies support the protests as the shortages largely stem from America and the government it supports

This, Al Sadr is closer to the Hezbollah method of advocating Shia rights within a secular multisect political context

Can we not jump to conclusions without evidence please? It's a bouj government and people are frustrated, and Al-Sadr wouldn't be so reconciliatory with them if he believed what you do.

The question is if Sadr will actually keep the Commies around after the inevitable revolution consildiates his movements power or if he will kick them to the curb after the fact

oh, ko, dhanks :DD I didn't know dhat doublechin supported emojis :DDDDDDD

W-what's gonna happen
