But Comey is certainly right that Democrats easiest road to general election victory would be nominating some dignified white male corporate democrat, ideally a military veteran or something.
However I'm not sure if their primaries is capable of producing that outcome. IIRC the Bernie wing negotiated an end to super delegates a few months ago.

I’m pretty sure that America is doomed at this point. Social democracy is a bare minimum if they are going to keep their economy from collapsing, without it or something more radical they will quickly destroy their own consumer base. But they will never get it because even the “progressive” elements in America are scared by basic socdem policies that have been successfully implemented around the world for decades. Yeah these are the kind of people who organize protests with VIP sections. But "centrism" as they imagine it basically doesn't exist as a constituency, meaning a "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" position which is shared by the rich and powerful but not most people. Most people are on the "left" (relatively speaking) in terms of economic views.
If there is a real "center" in American politics it's actually reactionary, fiscally liberal – which is Trump, ironically. Or at least what Trump pretended to be during his campaign.

Hello. Portuguese here. We had soc dems in power many ocasions over the last 4 decades
They privatized highways, airports, telecomunications compnay, the mail, electricity company, they shut down public schools and give taxes money to rivate school in the area to receive more students without paying fees, they puted us on EU, Euro currency…and recently sided with the right wing and voted against a reduction from 40h of work per week to 35 in the private sector(because the public sector already works 35h per week).

yes they have an agreement with the communist party to get approval on on some things in arliament and are forced to include a couple of proposals from the communist party as well.
But as i said recently they sided with the right wing and voted against a reduction in less work for the private sector.
I think (i hope) the communist party will not approve the next state budget which will cause early elections.
