In 2006, they lost 121 soldiers out of an army of 30k. Hezbollah lost around 250 from an army of like 1000. Israel lost 44 civilians. Lebanon lost 1000.
This seems to be the way it goes - when Israel loses a war, they still do way more fatal damage and come out with more - I think Hezbollah was outclassed in pretty much everything except strategy, which is why they were able to hold out against the attack.
Israel's a side effect of British imperialism and WWII.
The thing is SA is interesting, but I was under the impression it was the other way around - the Saudis and Israel have been working together for a while, haven't they? SA wants to send out violent young men to kill Shi'ites, and Israel wants dead Shi'ites. Meanwhile SA is a major trade partner of the US in such a profound way that mainstream political schlock in America routinely substitutes other middle eastern countries for them. They all-but-orchestrated 9/11, but we talk about Iran here in America instead because SA is good boys.
