Why is the mainstream 'left' so obsessed with this body-positive shit? Why do we pretend that we don't need to be able to handle firearms, or to crack a few heads open in self defence and defence of working class communities?

What do you mean by "mainstream left"? Bodybuilding isn't a catchall for every sort of strength training. If you look online you can find an awful lot of people making claims that "cardio kills gains." Besides, there is ubiquitous use of performance enhancers in all level of competition, including anabolic steroids and insulin doping, both of which can damage the heart.

Not everything is about fighting. The youth must be inspired by us, to join our cause. Beauty exists, and is as important as function. I know people who do bodybuilding as well as mma, both are possible. When I was young, I was captivated by the idea of physical perfection, more so than beating up others. Both ahould be possible.
However, the broader problem is that the mainstream left chooses to pander to a tiny minority of pleasure-obsessed petty-bourgeois trash, instead of reaching out to the youth. Bodybuilding is the most white collar sport out there. Only the richer white collar workers have the money to fund it, and only the white collar workers have the kinds of jobs that do not require physical exertion (which would ruin the training) and only richer white collar workers have time and energy to work out that much after working and in the weekends.
If you have a blue collar job you dont need to go to the gym, you white collar tard, you already work out enough.

What job do you have that involves all of the major muscle groups to the same extent and always works opposing muscles? Blue collar work is more likely to give you a repetitive strain injury than muscle definition.

There are very slight differences between the muscle fibers in tissue that has developed as a result of exercise with weights and that developed through other activities, but that doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with weight training. People frequently overlook stretching and overlook stabilizing muscles, but so long as you go about it properly there is nothing "fake" about the strength you can obtain through weight training.

I was talking about how many weight exercises isolate muscle groups a bit too much and use sometimes excessive repetition. Not to say that all exercise is bad just weight lifting to get big. It puts great strain on the bones and ligaments. Injury is common.
