Why is capitalism bad if it's a necessary stepping stone to communism? Isn't the hatred toward it just a tool for historical progression, rather than a legitimate grievance?

Kinda, yeah, but then again when you actually live under a system, you deal with its negative aspects daily, and you see the things its ruling class does to perpetuate it, it becomes difficult to suppress any moral grievance for purely detached historical interpretation.
Besides that, we aim to buid a mass movement and it's very hard to do that if you don't hit the right notes with what people feel under capitalism and don't point out the most outrageous things that happens under it.
Hating capitalism is dumb, all smart socialists realize that capitalism (as you mentioned) is a stepping stone to socialism. It's simply a thing of progress and survival, capitalism has outlived its usefulness and we either abandon it or humanity dies.
Its not like its magical destiny of humanity that is predetermined that capitalism has to come, its just that material conditions of late feudalism will give birth to capitalism, and that material conditions of late capitalism will give birth to socialism
Capitalism isn’t bad in the grand scheme of things. It’s a necessary stage of history and bourgeois revolutionaries like Robespierre, Sun Yat Sen, Thomas Paine etc are all heroes. It’s simply outlived it’s usefulness.
its not good or bad its just outdated and past its sell by date like feudalism was
How tho? Every system has an equal amount of flaws to pros, and I don't get the hate on capitalism, since it's currently the most successful/arguably best system so far
I can hate capitalism if all I do is get fucked by it. I sure as shit wouldn't if my daddy was rich.
What do you mean with 'legitimate' grievance? I feel your definition of 'bad' things uses a very narrow morally dualistic definition.
lul
When the seas are green and boiling, the nukes are flying, everyone is in jail or homeless please for the love of god say that shit again.
Comparing capitalism to human sacrifice is pretty unfair
Well, when the nukes are flying then everyone is fucked, no matter what the system is like. You're equally fucked under communism as under capitalism.
Capitalism is bad because communism better.
(im not even sure capitalism is better than feudalism to live in but my my does it produce a lot of shit)
Why is feudalism bad if it's a necessary stepping stone to capitalism? Isn't the hatred toward it just a tool for historical progression, rather than a legitimate grievance?
it's outlived it's usefulness because the blind drive of "growth" and accumulation is killing the planet and depleting it's remaining resources. at some point not even computerized central planning is going to be able to turn this around. the time is now
Without reading any of the replies of the thread i'm gonna assume everyone will agree: like feudalism, capitalism was a clear improvement of what came before, so it's communism, and in the future we will probably shit on communism for some new radical shit.
Why is it unfair? It leads directly to millions of deaths per year and is literally threatening the existence of humanity through climate change.
It's not any more of a stepping stone than Feudalism was. We just lost the battle for skipping a feudal-lite system before utopia and true freedom.
Can you elaborate on this? This is more about your lack of personal introspection than Capitalism itself. From our perspective Capitalism is just as primitive and exploitative as ancient slave societies or feudal kingdoms because has its own versions of human sacrifices. If you yourself grew up in those more ancient societies you would defend the status quo as much as you are doing right now.
You, sir, are not a communist.
Marx never said capitalism was "bad". He said it was unsustainable from its own internal contradictions and was but a transitory phase of history. People who are serious about history know nothing is good or bad in itself, the roman empire wasn't bad, nazi germany wasn't "evil". These are caused by deeper structural causes and the work of the historian is to uncover these.
It's both. Same with how feudal peasants grew to hate feudalism, propelling society towards capitalism.
Have you ever thought about the contradictions of capitalism? A small minority of people become increasingly enriched through the exploitation of the many, the whole mode of production periodically crashes with the boom / bust cycle and in a world of increasingly socialized production, now approaching a global scale, appropriation of the fruits of this production remains in the hands of individuals. Capitalism has done many great things and was, as even Marx and any Marxist worth their salt acknowledges, progressive in its time.
Whatever your personal opinions on capitalism are, it is going to implode one day, its internal contradictions and necessity for constant growth will lead to its inevitable collapse. If you want you can just google "contradictions of capitalism" and see for yourself, literally everything Marx said about capitalism's tendency to destroy itself via its own contradictions has been proven true, and once the average rate of profit drops low enough, money will completely cease to circulate under capitalism and the system will be irrevocably obsolete.
But user, it’s so much easier just to moralize about capitalism and see who can add the most zeros in the body-count game!
Capitalism is a historical moment. It's existence within history is neither good or bad. We are incapable of changing the past, so it is senseless to make any moral judgement here. The only thing we need to judge is its continued existence, which is bad for the lower classes.
Because the rate of acceleration of capitalism has reached the point where it is not longer sustainable unless you really want a Mad Max scenario. Most people don't even work in industry anymore.
Just watch as some Elon Musk worshiping cuck drops in with the "what about space???" argument. Protip: there is literally nothing in space that could even remotely earn anyone a profit, so we aren't going there under capitalism unless they find oil on the fucking moon or something. Socialism is the only reason anyone even went to space in the first place.
well there's some oil in Titan, like a fuck ton of it, more than earth to be precise.
mfw we’ll see space imperialism in our lifetimes
Well there's methane, but in liquid form, not fossil fuel "oil" as we know it. Titan is covered in liquid natural gas.
Capitalism won't go away unless we can build a mass movement which is dedicated to eliminating it. To do that we have to first promote the notion that capitalism is bad and must be eliminated. I don't think anyone disagrees with this.
wat?
MODS = FAGS
Literally the opposite. I've noticed how prolific that definition is, and I'm questioning whether it's anything more than a method of mass mind control.
