Aren't you supporting capitalism by buying expensive shoes, clothes, iphone, airpods, expensive car, etc?
How do you defend socialists that buy expensive stuff?

Define expensive.
A car that costs more than $10k. Shoes that cost more than $50. Phones that cost more than $200, etc. You get the idea.
So if a car costs say $10.5k under your reasoning a socialist should buy it?
You're supporting capitalism by buying anything, because corporations make profit off of it.
dumb criticism tbh
HOWEVER I do avoid buying expensive stuff when the alternative is just as good (or good enough that the extra is not worth it), Apple products, Coach/Gucci bags, Rolexes etc are for idiots
1. There can be no ethical consumption under capitalism.
2. So long as the person is aware of the exploitation necessary to produce the item, their own exploitation, the nature of the system that enabled this exploitation and oppose all three I see no reason why they should be criticized for being able to afford modest luxury.
I dont.
People who buy brand stuff for the brand are retarded regardless of their politics. Also that rich bitch isnt a socialist she is just tryin to be edgy.
Sometimes expensive stuff is better than cheap stuff thouh. Cheap shoes will just destroy your feet and wear out thrice as fast.
You should not equate buying relative pricy products to decadent flaunting. A mid range soda is just much better than the chemical cancerinducing sodas that are the cheapest.
You can't oppose capitalism if you benefit from it and live a "modestly luxurious" lifestyle while people are suffering. I'm sorry. You're just a hypocrite. You should be donating all superfluous money to the poor and living a minimalist lifestyle.
Ah yes, and here I was think socialism was about stopping exploitation while raising my standard of living.
(btw buddy if youre too retarded to understand my sarcasm, socialism isnt a morality thing, its a self interest thing. The workers want to stop being exploited and build a better world together where there is not a system perpetually making them at risk of being exploited)
Spoken like a fake socialist. They say when you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression. It's not about just you, but everyone. Some people are going to have to make some sacrifices for everyone to be equal.
Then why are there still elites?
Because the elites arent the workers. Its called class struggle you fucking retard. And buying a bottle of rum once in a while does not make you a hypocritical luxery ivory tower socialist.
I mean for fucks sake in my country, a supposed social democracy in western europe, 10% of children are growing up in poverty, lots of families are food insecure and rely on donations.
BUT NOOOOOO WE ARE ALL FAKE SOCIALISTS BECAUSE THOSE PROBLEMATIC WORKERS HAVE LUXERIES LIKE HOMES WITH HEATING IN THE WINTER, OR A PIECE OF CANDY ONCE A WEEK, RIGHT?
You absolute idiot.
You're responding to two different people
Two equally retarded people with the same question.
Don't know any socialists who buy "expensive" stuff, but I wouldn't care if they do. Engels was a factory owner, Kropotkin was a prince, even Lenin was bourgeoisie so it doesn't matter really.
Being a socialist SHOULD mean being of the Proletariat, when you're a bourgeois you mean nothing to a revolution
Go fuck yourself capcuck
Bernie Sanders
Lol
You're a retard.
If you buy cheap shoes they fall apart within a week, I've tried it. I don't buy insane shoes but I often get into the $75 range.
I guess all of this depends what country you're from
Like here I wouldn't dream spending more than 10-15$ on shoes or anything else clothing related because i barely make 300$ a month
Elsewhere it will of course be different
But honestly this is just lifestylism, nobody will fall apart if they have to trade their 50$ shit fort a 5$ one, this has as much impact as those faggots that burn shoes as a political statement.
I recently bought a switch (which i jailbroke for free games), do I need to return my socialist card?
wtf I accidentally bought two candies instead of one can I still be a communist if I give my candy to the government??
It might be actually more worthwhile to spend on expensive things, especially so if you know said object is expensive due to better worker pay etc.
granted it still isn't ethical, but it's better to eat sardines over consuming bluefin tuna etc. etc.
I’m a nudist. I can’t support capitalist-made clothing. Food is boycotted too, I’m near death as I type this. Take that, porky
Candy is actually one of the few items that it is okay to have an abundance of
Bongland?
Nigga, you serious?
Implying Bernie is socialist
