There is no point to fucking up the status quo unless you can assure that was ever takes its place is better, and certainly not much worse.

For example, there is no point in deconstruction if it empowers a worse ethnonationalist group or worse government. I'd venture that 100% of so called anarchists have no plan for that if they think about it at all. This makes them vulnerable to being tools of oppression, which is how they will be used. Its difficult for me to think of an exception to that rule and eventuality given their modern form. Deconstruction is not its own virtue.

Anyways it's my impression that Americans really do not understand France (or Europe more broadly) at all and try to meme French politics in certain ways but it just doesn't translate. I'm in this Yellow Vest group on facebook and it's pretty fucking depressing what gets posted there on the daily. Lots of reactionary sentiment, nationalism, the most far-fetched conspiracy theories. There are leftists in the group as well but they mostly tend to be autistic Trotskyists and anarkiddies. Would still support this movement for 100%, because it's an anti-establishment movement which objectively threatens the status quo, but it isn't going anywhere without clear leadership and a strong theoretical line

Not to sidetrack about idpol, and Idpol was in OWS but I think the extent of it was exaggerated after-the-fact as a way of fighting that battle later – I don't remember many people complaining about that at the time. It was not the primary problem but a second- or third-order problem that arose from the main problem, which was lack of organization, a coherent position, etc.

These two go hand in hand I'd say, lacking a coherent organization just leads to people all picking their own identitarian battles and not being able to form a united block.
Honestly this kind of stuff makes me feel pretty blackpilled about prospects of mass left-wing movements in the West. The right's ideological hegemony seems to get stronger every year. Then again, who knows where the destruction of the welfare state and impending climate disaster will bring us.
