Ehhh, I don't know about that, even porky won't want that, if a state like Pakistan was on the verge of collapse I would say it's fairly likely there would be some extralegal Western coalition operation to wipe out their nuclear silos.

This is my hope. I'm hoping porky realizes that nukes are bad for business. It could certainly happen, Russia keeping people in Europe from throwing nukes, China stopping anyone in Asia or Africa from nuking each-other, USA stopping anybody in the west from doing it. Big empires have a lot to lose from mutually-assured destruction – It wouldn't surprise me if there was some plan or some secret technology being used currently to stop nukes from reaching their destination, or at least to strike silos before all of them can launch.

The public library in my podunk town started classes where kids can be taught coding and work with raspberry pi, simple motors, sensors and wheels. Playing with robots was just fantasy when I was that age.

Something like that is too big to keep secret, there are ways to shoot down nukes but they're all vastly more expensive than a nuke itself - which is why the Soviets were so angry when Reagan wanted to pursue Star Wars etc (it was basically economic warfare against the USSR since they could never afford a similar program). If one ICBM was launched at the US or Europe, I think there's decent odds that it would be shot down by the few prototypes etc that exist, but if it was hundreds, there's no chance they'd get them all.

What worries me, and is something I'm shocked isn't more of a concern to governments etc, is the possibility of nuclear terrorism - a suitcase sized device is too small to really qualify as nuclear, but there's no reason an entire warhead couldn't be fitted into a shipping container and detonated at the New York docks.

Ultimately though I think we have more to fear from starvation and direct government repression than nukes.

See, Porky is definitely prepared for the collapse of society with special bunkers/compounds they can survive in, but we know too little about what the consequences of MAD would be for them to be sure that they could survive it even with extensive preparation - surviving the blast itself is no big achievement because the real challenge is to survive the next hundred or hundreds of years while the climate stabilises. How will they grow enough food in that time? Hydroponics? Maybe, but will those run flawlessly for 200 years? How will they sustain 'society' inside the bunkers when any big enough to survive will need a corps of engineers and their families, and likely additional staff to maintain the bourg's life of leisure. It won't take the underlings long to realise that the bunker's owners need them a lot more than the reverse. Perhaps the bourgs predicted this and included some sort of genetic locks on the control of vital systems, that's yet another way that the bunker could fail if the owners were killed perhaps by just one enraged person, so everyone will die.

Overall, I think the rich are prepared for survival in a post-ACC world but not a post nuclear one. So they will use their resources to prevent that.

That's not the case. Number one, there's no reason why the population wouldn't decrease under communism (let's refer to socialism from now since it's more short-term achievable, communism implies post-scarcity), there would be comprehensive old-age care provisions so no need to have kids simply to have someone to look after you when you retire, people would be free to choose to have kids or not, and number two, in socialism there would be no requirement to have growth in the sense of increased production every year. The primary economic metrics would be happiness, people's satisfaction with availability of goods, and resources and the environment. If the production of goods was reduced from one year to the next, but people's happiness stayed the same or increased, that would be considered a success, not a failure as in capitalism. Socialism doesn't have any inherent requirement to destroy the natural world to fuel ever-increasing profits.

The problem though is that anti-nuke emplacements actually make nuclear war more likely not less.
