The "middle class" isn't real. What you want to say is "labor aristocracy" but of course you can't because you aren't approaching this from a third worldist perspective. Also this has been the norm outside of america for decades. Europe has lots of nominally "socialist" parties that are basically just neoliberal orgs with socialist aesthetics. America is just catching up.

i know you're probably shitposting but why bother painting americans as "ruining" socialism, how is this in anyway constructive?

Oh boy, third worldism from the first world. Fun.
The home owning workers are going to be fucked in event of a depression and be as fucked as any man in an apartment, so discard the impression they have massive amount of influence and power to exploit. That's reserved for bosses and the offspring in OP's post

So is it fashionable to look disinterested in everything? Because none of the people in ops pic look like they care about anything. Whether its socialism, Brooklyn, sexiness, the meaning of life. Is that whats hip now? Also none of them look like they've ever picked up a hammer let alone a sickle. Its disgusting, but its NYC, literally the pinnacle of capitalism, so I guess its to be expected that they would confuse any notion of socialism with radlibs. I unironically believe that we just can't save NYC at this point and will just have to nuke it into oblivion.

You know nothing of New York. It is a big contradiction of a city. But you'll find more comrades there than in any southern state.

Why would a worker in a developed country pick up a sickle? Most working class people in the US aren't doing backbreaking physical labor.

Hammer and sickle replaced with a Truck and Chalk

It was a joke. Relax

Car-centric development was a huge fucking mistake. Socialism in the US should aim to massively expand rail connections.

I would unironically turn fascist if this what being a socialist ACTUALLY meant. There really isn't anything I hate more in this world than the urban hipster that fills every millenial advert.

Being a "socialist" for many people is much like being a fan of Disney, a nerd, a goth, a punk, or any other commodity-based identity, where the label serves less as a political affiliation than as a social filter for discovering others in one's consumer group.

The US is legit fucked when automated logistics hits.

Irreversibly, totally, unbelievably, fucked.

How is Truck driver the most common job in majority of the states? Like who are they driving for and carrying what???

Because the Burger solution to everything is to lay tar on the ground. Shipping? Build a highway. Shopping? Build a parking lot. Commute? Build a road. Suburb? Squiggly roads so you can enjoy driving your car twice as long.
If you go on a highway in the USA, you will frequently find that half the mass on the road is huge trucks driving hundreds of miles. The reason is that our system of trains and ports is utter dogshit.

TruckBol GANG

Burgernon, I knew your country was existential contradiction but my feeble mind cannot still grasp how the hell is that size of an economy function without strong logistical infrastructure.

I guess horde of trucks can provide redundancy (within state level maybe) but is it really worth it to expand such network to continent wide level with all the environmental and labour cost???

Maybe I'm fetishizing railroads too much growing up in nip land

cheap fuel and there's a major sunk cost in that we've been doing it for decades in this fashion
plus as every red blooded american knows, trains are socialist

you know, with all the guns floating around and rich people buying up their little castles, it will be interesting to what shit hits the fan first and then what follows that. figure the wrong groups will be targeted by the reactionaries though, like always.

Remember this is all being done while our roads and especially our bridges are starting to seriously fall into disrepair.
:^)

Honestly we need to start radicalizing truckers and explaining this to them. If we let truckers go become reactionaries en masse then we're seriously fucked.

I don't know why, but I find it hard it's not retail or fast food worker as the most popular.

Undeniable truths, comrade

These sort of articles bother the shit out of me. American media is cancerous

There are many reasons for it.
- Boojify the middle classes by making them feel like they live in isolated little castles.
- Car companies control the government, part of a fascist conspiracy involving Henry Ford.
- More spread-out = less vulnerable to air raids and ICBM nukes, supposedly.
- More spread-out = harder for workers to organize
- Easier for tanks and APCs to traverse loads of roads instead of dense cities. Harder to make barricades. etc.

It really is a headscratcher that not many people mention. Public transportation advocacy is becoming hot now and socialists are often (and should be) involved.

this

Chill with the workerism lmao

I mean there are the Subaru socialists in Park Slope who care way more than the millennial marketing hipsters who co-opted socialism as an "thing" in Williamsburg, but there's a ton of diversity in NY and it may have more leftists than any city in the US, despite being the heart of capitalism.

This is the truth. The suburbs killed solidarity with the notion of the temporarily embarrassed millionaire("classless" middle class), hyper consumerist, not caring about your neighbors shtick. We would have been better with large dense cities surrounded by small dense towns surrounded by farmland and all connected via railways. Rather than this unnatural urban sprawl into suburban sprawl into farmland into suburban sprawl into urban sprawl. It's killing our environment and for commuters it would be much easier to go via railroad rather than by car.
