I was young and it was my first election I thought that we lived in a democracy and if we got a reeeealy liberal president they could make a positive material impact. Or are you saying a 'real' anarchist today wont even vote Bernie for damage control?

This is a key reason why I'm asking. Land is 'correct' that a hyper techno fascist empire could enslave the proles for a million years. This would be comfy for those on top but would limit the total potential of humanity by continuing to reproduce malnourished uneducated automatons. I like Deleuze but can't see going from marx->postmodernism->dark enlightenment unless you take away the temporal aspect and do some hedonistic individualism or you actually think sections of humanity are trash to be discarded both of which I find to be unoptimal given statistics. This cuts off an entire potentiality for humanity and slows progress exponentially for the species while maintaining stasis for the individual.

What stops our new 'comrades' who reactionaried right and are now reacting left and falling into bad theory. If you choose YOLO as a core value Land is right so persons looking into communism to improve their own material conditions will be just like the hippies in the 70s who turned right as soon as they signed a mortgage will into eco-fascist-accelerationism.

I was a generic Democrat (when I was like 9 to like 14/15) then a right "Libertarian" who was a registered Republican until I was like 24/25 and became a generic socialist around 2015. I would say last year I started calling myself a MARXIST-LENINIST COMMUNIST to anyone who asked my political views.

I started down this road because of Ron Paul and his pseudo-anti-imperialism that the liberals also called "isolationism".

I had a libertarian phase for like a couple of days in high school, but then I read some anarchist literature and realized how shit libertarianism is. Before that, I was just a generic apolitical liberal.

Then I moved to Marxism.

Not really right wing but I was kind still am a burger civic nationalist and a STEM nerd. I became a leftist when I realized that the market is an irrational system that is inefficient, wasteful, and straight up retarted. One event that radicalized me was the flint water crisis and in general deindustrialization due to offshoring. (I’m from the midwest)

I was never rightwing. I first learn what right and left were when I was 14. After that I considered myself a socdem. Now a non-sectarian communist.

So people in swing states should spoil votes to uphold idealism?
