Jesus was a communist

"I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. "
Matthew 19:23-24

The first christians were communists too:

"Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart"
Acts 2:43-46
"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need"
Acts 4:32–35

Christian scripture can be used to justify any action and social order there is.

Well, I hardly see how to justify capitalism with New Testament

well you might not but americans certainly can.

It's the reason why they're contradictory

Well, religious insight is, by definition, supernatural, so there is no surprise that there is no external logic to its' conclusions.

But the fact is very much objective: Christianity did justify slavery, did justify feudalism and did justify Capitalism - moreover, it played fundamental role in function of all these societies.

Christ did no advocate class war.

However I see it hard to be a communist without a believe in God and a community of like minded people

The Christ cult has always been a very strange mixture of genuine human universalism half the time and hardcore apologetics for plutocracy the other half. You can find support for both in the religion's essential text.

Using the Nazarene faith for socialism can be a useful propaganda tool from time-to-time, don't get me wrong. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. I don't want any more obnoxious Christians ruining socialism. Christcoms are already the worst posters on this board by far and I don't relish the thought of encountering any of them in-person in the future.

the message here seems to be "it is on you, as a poor slave/sustenance farmer who struggles with disease and famine on a daily basis, to give away everything you own and a lot of your food, but let's not challenge the prevailing socio-economic order which created your shitty existencein the first place lol render unto ceaser amirite?"
that being said, I don't see how christians can reconcile their beliefs with right wing capitalism, since they are supposed to practice what is essentially the "toothbrush" argument they strawman communists with.

voluntary exchange and charity

There is more than one way to win a war.

And if you can defeat an enemy by bringing him around to your side and making him a comrade then you have won a supreme victory without having to resort to violence.

This reads like "We shouldn't have taxes, we should just let the rich give to the poor out of charity"

for as long as christianity exists, it's important to maintain this narrative, the only value in scripture is social engineering, as it stands.

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. 2 Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.

'What have the Romans ever done for us?' tier tbh
and that's on top of the 'communism is when the government does stuff' boomer facts

The early Church was a place that the Roman proletarian went to escape extreme poverty, unjust social conditions and the exploitation by Roman oligarchs. They developed communes which grew in popularity, because when they all chipped in there was enough for all. Everyone was equal, and administrators were elected. As membership grew so did the need of administration. People who joined would give everything they had and that would be divided up between the membership especially those who had none. A full time administration meant they needed to be compensated. The early Church kept growing and these administrators called Bishops gained in importance. Similarly the wealthy members of the Church no longer gave everything they owned, and moved into the communes. Eventually, the Church grew enormous and the richest Churches became the most important, and their Bishops the best compensated. Now the first portion of donation proceeds went to Bishops, the second to Clergy, the 3rd to property and upkeep and the leftovers were given to the poor. The Bishops became politically influential, and enormously rich. Around this time the books of The Holy Bible were compiled. Inconvenient anti rich and anti authority books were marked apocryphal or heretical. Only books which both attracted membership, but allowed the heirarchy were kept and deemed divinely inspired. By the 13th century the Church became a cruel force of exploitation. They owned 1/3rd of the property, tithing was enforced by violence, ideological purity was violently required and instead of giving to the poor the Church took from the poor. Serf's were charged twice. A tithe of work from their labor for the poor and a tithe of their possessions. Forgiveness, funerals and holidays incurred further fines paid to the Church. It's an interesting subject. The leading theologians of their time justified the Church behavior with scripture. Every horrible act Nazis used against the Jews was done 1st by the Church.

Whenever a fedbook hippy suggests that co-op communes in a libertarian free market economy is the answer I think about the early Church (and predatory scam co-ops). Also I've never been to a commune that wasn't filled with elitists and unsaid membership requirements. That's neither here nor there though. The physics of capitalism doom good hearted co-op communes either towards failure or exploitation as we see with the ultra successful early Christian Church.

the problem with Christian communism is that it would have to be authoritarian at this point. atheists won't voluntarily give up their idiotic "WOW SCIENCE, BRO" opinions anyways.

the ELN have tried Christian communism for 50 years, it hasn't worked out for them, they're junior partners to the FARC and have completely succumb to being a cocaine gang. I don't think you guys around here would consider the FLSN communists either since they have multiparty elections and are essentially social democratic.

In their defense, they were completely against selling drugs until the FARC capitulated to the government and more or less abandoned them.

I guess that's fair, but I doubt they will return to form even if the FARC dissidents are growing. You're probably not going to see the amount of guerilla control there was before the old FARC more or less surrendered.

Jesus was a Capricorn, he ate organic foods.
He believed in peace and love and he never wore no shoes
He had long hair, a beard, and a funky bunch of friends
I bet you if he came back we'd ==NAIL HIM UP AGAIN==

You had me there, nice April fools.

You morons don't know the first thing about me!

Galaxy brain shit right here, I don't even know where to begin

But regardless Jesus of Nazareth was a proto-Marxist, he died so that we might have the dialectic

The Parable of the Good Samaritan is literally about class consciousness

Your delusions about me are typical of a brainless lemming!

You read the Bible dispensationally and divide Paul and later Acts from the Gospels and the Hebrew Epistles. Paul's writings, which contradict the vows of poverty, are considered to authoritative for today by the American majority.
