as good marxists we subscribe to the idea that the material conditions to cause capitalism's collapse will eventually arise as a result of its contradictions, as a result of it pushing itself a bit too far. no one individual leftypol poster can cause this to happen, and i would say no one bourgie could do it either. the short term event that may cause capitalism's demise will be the next economic recession, but there's no real guarantee.

but the most important thing is to gear the proletariat such that when the time for revolution comes that they actually revolt in a progressive, communist way rather than a right leaning fascist way. so in this respect, i feel that online lefties do have a role to play in the preparation for the revolt. the goal is of course to shift people's mindset from a liberal ideology to a left wing one, which can be done online no problem. as well as in real life. what you can do is convince your friends about anti capitalism and marxism. what you can do is tweet about capitalism's injustices and argue with those who support capitalism wholeheartedly as an economic system. your goal is to change the minds of the undecided and the already decided. that is the best thing that any one individual can do right now.

I hope this is figured out soon. I'm gonna reach my mid 30s soon and when that happens this super power is toast. I already feel weaker by the day.

I can just share what I am doing: about 8 months ago I have joined a communist party. And i have to say, it was a very good decision. Before i have joined, i was worried i wouldn't fit in, because i'm kind of an introvert. But after a while, i found out which tasks and activities suit to me. I've found my place in the party and make my own contribution. I can tell you, it is a very satisfying feeling, to do something
meaningful and meet like minded people.
Regarding my "job", I distribute flyers to houshold mailboxes. Usually 2000-5000 per month. I don't have to talk to people, still I'm spreading the word. Maybe people can find some inspiration in my story, there is always a way how you can contribute.

Flyers are totally meaningless though. You've deluded yourself to believe that it has any impact. People don't even look at them before they throw them in the trash. Orgs have this weird fixation with archaic media, even though labor union and party membership rates are lower than ever before.

well, what we could really use is something to fund worker actions, and connect people doing worker actions or are supportive of unions. building global worker solidarity through the internet should be our goal, and we can do that using what we learned from Zig Forums on how to organize. we don't have the numbers they have but we can still do something. the creation of and spreading of commie memes that debunk not only fascist rhetoric but neoliiberal hegemony is a start. but i think we can do better than that. see, when Zig Forums got deplatformed from twitter and youtube, they built their own platforms to share media. we don't really need our own twitter. what we need is our own kickstarter. a kickstarter for strikers. right now there are a bunch of strikes happening all over the world, and imagine we could keep them doing that indefinitely. imagine we were able to connect worker actions to the general populace. a lot of these unions and worker actions have their own website, we can start just by being a portal to a bunch of worker actions happening globally. how hard would that website be to create? we can do that. we can do something good. we just need to figure out the simple shit we can do right now that we need right now. the internet should be the greatest democratizing tool ever invented in the the history of man. we need to figure out how to make it work for workers.

Really though, if there's going to be a revolution, it's going to be the technocrats and professional classes seizing control of a thoroughly outmoded capitalist state and replacing it with a "meritocratic" state. The idea of socialism, in any meaningful sense of a popular, democratic form of government, is dead. The millennial generation is hostile towards the idea of democracy of any sort, and zoomers appear to be even worse. The most prominent elements of this generation will be turned loose against the lower classes, and that will BE the revolution. There is no role for me to play in such affairs.

The problem with a lot of socialist orgs (if they aren't just honeypots or cults or moneymaking schemes) is that they think the capitalism of Lenin's time is still operative. The reality is that just as Lenin was doing his thing, capitalism became something quite different, and that became final during the economic reforms of the 1930s around the capitalist world (essentially, we're running on Nazi economic principles and the ability of states to manipulate monetary economies, rather than dealing with hordes of gold or promises of gold as in Marx's day). The existence of totalitarian capitalist states (that is, a state which has its hands in everything and exerts control over its people that no one could have imagined in previous generations) makes revolution nearly impossible, which is why it has always happened in the least advanced countries like Russia, China, Vietnam, parts of Africa, and so on. I don't even know how many Americans have it in them to wage a revolution that would be worthy of the name, and if there is a revolution it would be fought by and in the interest of the middle classes who see an opportunity to seize power from a mostly useless aristocracy of rich men. It's pretty hard to sell people a revolution when they have every reason to believe that a revolution will just work them harder than the capitalists could hope to, even if it does succeed.
At the root of this is the reality that teachers and janitors, to name an example, aren't really the same thing and never could be. The former necessarily hold certain beliefs about how society ought to be ordered in order to perform their function as part of an institution to reform society. The latter is held in contempt, even in socialist societies, as someone who ought to be grateful for being permitted to exist, and has no particular investment in whatever system humans devise to govern affairs (unless people want to live in filth, they're going to need someone to clean shit up, and while in theory this job doesn't have to be considered disgraceful or something to impose on a disliked lower class, middle class vanity wins out and the lower classes lack the kind of bloodlust necessary to counteract that.)
