Visualizing what a victory would look like is a good way of building up motivation and fighting spirit. Of course this excersice will manifest in a lot of fantasizing and utopianism. When you're fighting a war, you don't just tell people how everyhting's going to shit, you find every means at your disposal to help people believe that victory is possible and the fight is worth it.

The fact of the matter is, Europe is falling fast from its 1st world status, or at least the 1st world status is fast loosing its meaning in terms of working peoples welfare and living standards. But already we're seeing anti-capitalist movements with mass support forming. There's also rising demands for environmental action, and it's only a matter of time and organizing before these demands form into a coherent movement. Neoliberalism as an ideology people believe in is in its death throws, and fascists (who get too much credit in this board imo) have already showed to themselves to be failures and whores to capital everywhere they've gained power. As liberalism falls to deliver on its most meagre promises, there's only one direction left to go.

I've no hope of full communism in my life time, but the conditions for bringing about socialism are building up. That we have a conflict ahead of us is assured, but the character of that conflict is up to us. We can't "assure" you of easy victory, but victory is looking more and more like a possibility. Between working towards a revolution and laying down to rot, I'll take my chances with revolution.
