The concept of Ukraine existing is a comedy itself.

...

Dude that shit is water under the bridge, modern Ukrainians can't help what their past countrymen did.

That was Stalin's doing though.

...

we need a holodomor debunking thread

Only on Lenin's insistence, Stalin would have collectivized those """countries""" kulak-style.

So does this election actually mean anything? I read a few articles and it was a bunch of Ukranian Nationalists bitching about Putin and Zelenskiy not being authentically Ukranian enough.

Stalin was People's Commissar for Nationalities, he was the one who said Ukranians were a nation.

It definitely means a few things. Zelensky might be a bit of a walking meme (for those that don't know, he isn;t just a comedian but a political satirist who plays a teacher that gets elected president and basically tries to go around purging corruption but is an idiot and can't do intrigue at-all., and it goes batshit like Ukraine balkanises into like 13 states in series 3) but he is unique in a few ways. First he is a Russkije (which isn't a great term, but eh) or a Russo-Ukrainian, so he identifies nationally as a Ukrainian but speaks Russian as his first language (going as far to say that when he speaks Ukrainian he is translating in his head). So yeah for the fascists he is a russophile traitor. He's also a realist over Donbass & Crimea, he knows he can get Donbass back but that Crimea is a lost cause. While he certainly isn't pro-Putin, his origins from the Russkije community put him as a unique mover that could help forge a New Ukrainian national identity that doesn't go around praising fucking fascists (also Zelensky is of jewish heritage, which further pisses off Ukraine's fascists).
So what's in-store for Ukraine? Well a negotiated settlement in Donbass is likely, especially as Russia tires of having to basically pay for everyone's gibs there. Internally it's a different story. Atm Zelensky is backed by an oligarch (who is a jewish guy that funded the Azov Battalion, yeah…), but also Zelensky appears to have outgrown his puppeteer by a large margin purely out of public support. There is an interesting analysis piece I saw that says Zelensky will be a shit president, but because he will be a shit president that Ukraine will become a de facto Parliamentary Republic and that's a good thing. We will see, but Zelensky is better than anything else tbh: he has promised that Ukraine will not join NATO or the EU without referenda so that's nice.

Быдло.

Get rekt Poroshenko.

AAAAAHHHHH

"Civil war" is a bit generous, it's like somewhere between a civil conflict like The Troubles and a Bush war.

Why are Ukrainians so ungrateful? Poles have the same problem.

reminder that communism as a political position is basically illegal in Ukraine as of 2015 and that their biggest communist party is literally banned from running

IIRC Anarchists work with the Nazis to fight the Commies.

Always kill Anarkiddies.

Tbh the CPU is a fucking dogshite legacy party that was a Party of Regions Sycophant.
I am convinced the path to socialism in Eastern Europe must be built in labourism and rejecting the old communist parties as the corrupt relics they now are.

The whole Azov stuff is fun. Anarchists, Islamists, Jews, Nazis.

Tbf the funniest party is that there are Cossack nutjobs on both sides because fucking cossacks man.

Whta fucking level have you ascended to?

HEH

But the entire rest of the world is voting for Poroshenko. Checkmate, Seinfeld.

Okay I waded through the cesspool that is Eastern European politics and brought you the "highlights". You're welcome.

They could avoid falling into neonazi propaganda and banderism, tho>>2871831

WE WUZ NAZIS N SHIT

The Soviet Union is the reason modern Ukraine exists today, and not just because of all the territory they gave it. Remember the Provisional government refused to grant them independence, the Tsarists would've never allowed Ukraine to secede from Russia and the Rada and the so-called nationalists invited the German imperial army and gratefully accepted becoming a colony for the Reich. Not to mention later the Polish invasion that tried to occupy Ukraine to recreate the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth. Fucking Ukrainians.

So is Ukraine doomed to elect a new comedian every few years after the last has proven to be a corrupt US puppet?

Seems like /ourguy/ tbh

Zelensky is a puppet for Kolomoysky, who syphoned 6 billion out of the bank that had to be nationalized not to go bally up. Kolomoysky is hiding in Israel (where he has citizenship), there is a warrant for him in Ukraine. He claims that Ukrainians still owe him 2 billion. This would be interesting how this plays out.

This dude is a joke, not just that he is a comedian, he plain sucks. I heard some of his "jokes" on the campaign trail and he is a total POS. How the fuck he got elected, I don't know, but I guess Ukrainian citizens deserve him now.

He is got no cabinet and no support in parliament. As much as I understand, president is a figure head, may be like in Iran, he doesn't really hold a whole lot of power as parliament wields the real power. So this will be interesting.

Clown world indeed.

poland is one of the few post-soviet success stories

youtube.com/watch?v=fGUuAMi2jls&t=214s

they agree about everything.

Could you elaborate? Genuinely curious

I used to think Ukraine was a tragedy, but now I realize it’s a comedy

Remember Beppe Grillo?

We should start electing comedians.

That's become the parliamentary elections for Ukraine are in October. Atm his party; Sluga Narodu (the name of his TV show) is polling the highest.
Nah Ukraine is de jure semi-presidential but the Rada has always been cucked by the president.

kek

...

This is a naive take. Granted, the CPU hasn't adapted well to multiparty parliamentary elections, but neither have any of the old Soviet-era parties. They simply don't have the knowledge, expertise, or foreign money that the new media-savvy neoliberal political groups do, and that goes a long way in post-Soviet politics. You can criticize them all you like for glorifying the Soviet Union or whatever, but their official stances have been pretty much spot on; they are firmly internationalist, firmly leninist, complex and resolute theory which addresses popular concerns, they have a clear political program which introduces real measures to halt the imperial leeches from de-developing ukraine…I could go on.

This won't work. Any rhetoric stressing the primacy of workers and class politics is met with frenzied anticommunism. At some point post-Soviet countries will have to reconcile with their past and recognize the USSR as a project which, although flawed to whatever degree you like, had genuinely noble aims and did some very good things. Accepting that the old communist parties were corrupt isn't mutually exclusive with wanting to build off their Soviet legacy, which, especially in the case of Ukraine, was their most fruitful era and defined modernity for them. Now most of the genuinely corrupt people have fucked off/been booted out of the CPU and there has been a qualitative transformation in their outlook. They aren't stupid enough to think that Soviet Ukraine could and should be attempted to be rebuilt the second they have any power.

Rolled 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1 = 9 (6d2)
This is an utter shitpost, but maybe take a rhetorical high theory Juche turn and always refer to the workers and the working class as the subject
Force your antagonists to be the ones bringing up the social antagonism?

much success, medieval status unlocked
rt.com/news/457218-polish-rite-judas-effigy/

Stalin should have killed more of them.

Watching every nation allied with the USA turn into 100% pure Barbarism is funny.

Like calling your country a whore, enough?

This is like electing Seinfield or Benny Hill, fucking clown world.

kek

Tbh that means he has a good understanding of Ukraine's position of the world: something fundamental to fixing it.

The comments on that article are fun

Goddamn is Ukraine a waste of space. And some idiot spitting on Zelinski while Poroshenko the US slave was the other option.

Fuck Ukraine.

I can't think of any positive thing about Ukraine. Like none, at all.

A country with sea access, natural resources, industrial capabilities and lots of potential tourist sites has long fallen behind Belarus in GDP per capita.

Are there any groups in Ukraine that call for a reversal of the completely insane '90s privatizations, in which random ass people took over 90% of the country's wealth?
