Even if you completely disregard its psychological aspect, it still retains a social aspect. The phallus is, obviously, the most fundamental male sex signifier, so in any patriarchal society, it will, by association, signify power as well. Further, simply having a penis isn't a state, so much as a fundamental characteristic of a man (castration notwithstanding, being a relatively very rare, and decidedly unnatural process), partly because it's, well, a 24/7 kind of deal. By contrast, childbearing is a function. A fundamental function, but a function nonetheless, and a remarkably difficult one at that. So on the one hand, the phallus signifies power – which might be considered a burden – and on the other, the womb signifies just a burden. Given this, who can fault any woman for wishing to have this big and powerful thing under their control? Freud was a textbook case of projecting one's own personal hang-ups as an undeniable part of human nature, but his own daughter, a psychoanalyst as well, echoed this when talking about why so many girls love horse-riding.

This doesn't even make sense. There's no a-priori reason why promiscuous peoplewould have fewer children than the norm. If anything, they're likely to have more children, as it's highly unlikely that all unwanted pregnancies would be aborted. For Freud men have castration anxiety because they discover their mother, whom they identified with, has no penis (when she's naked). The genitals and ass of the baby-son were also washed by the phallic mother, a relaxing feeling, and so boys identify that experience passively, with their mother in the active role, hence those who don't outgrow that stage remain "momma-boys"/gays (still according to Freud). This is the "vulgar" basis of the still somewhat reality-based Freud, from which Zizek, via Lacan, draws more questionable assertions.
Now in male porn fetishes, it's true that we don't see envy of the womb as such. We rather see for example futanari, which are women with a penis, so a soothing return to the uncastrated phallic mother. Transsexuals in porn are also considered, for the male fantasy to work, as real women (it is not homosexuality).
Based on Freud's claim that women have penis envy, you would expect popular porn for women to feature women with a penis, but futanari or shemale porn is not a popular genre with women (or lesbians) AFAIK. Rather male gay romantic porn is popular among (heterosexual) women, featuring men being cute/caring with each other, that is sort of acting like pussies. Does this disprove Freud's thesis? For Freud child birth works like a sublimation of penis envy; a way for woman to get a penis (the child being an extension of her body).
However, and here I'm speculating, perhaps feminist psychologists could retort to this, by saying that male misogyny is really hatred of one's own penis: men's "disappointment" that real women don't have a penis, leads to the fact that she becomes the penis, that is woman=penis, so that you can't "be a man" without owning a women (if not, you're a beta/cuck, ie a man without a status-object/penis), and therefore woman is treated like an object, namely like a penis, and if she's treated badly (by yourself, or by other men), then it's as if one's own penis is being treated badly. Now the fetish of transsexuals, crossdressers, etc. is to have their own penis treated badly, but pain and pleasure go together here. It also doesn't mean they actively envy the womb, but then if we take Freud's thesis of penis envy, we didn't find in popular porn for women either the fantasy about having a penis/balls.
