Before the ML era I was banned here a couple of times for ML positions. Eventually people got exposed to the ML viewpoint and became ML, it isn't that we recruited Reddit, this is a completely bullshit argument once you realise we are like the supervillans for r/socialism and r/communism because we are "ableist". Mentioning Zig Forums there gets you banned. It's simply that some of old Leftcom arguments and anarchist arguments didn't hold up to scrutiny over time.
Most of the anarchists who got fucked over, including me at one point, were fucking cancer, who needed to stop playing bullshit, and actually work out what their own theory implies.

It took me a bit of thinking to actually come to realize what I'd wanted, and I actually came to realize how ridiculously short-sighted and void of goal liberalism is. I gave myself a rather simple goal of something I'd like to see, something to work towards. I'd like to see humanity survive to the stars. Maybe it'll happen after I'm gone, but it's a goal.
Starting to actually envision what that would look like was a major part of what wiped out the liberalism in my own mind. What the costs of that would be, what the present day would look like to someone a thousand years from now. It really struck me how utterly petty it was to criticize "dictators" in other countries while supporting the US' "humanitarian" invasions when it was coming at the cost of perpetuating homelessness and poverty on a systemic basis. Was it worth it to condemn untold billions to poverty while the comfortable "middle class" and bourgies took over the stars?

To some extent, horrifying on an even greater level than what was happening now. Sure, today we listen to the horrors of times past, we tell ourselves how wrong it was that we did horrible things in the name of progress, but nobody at all would suggest that we give up the progress in the name of doing what's "right". I really realized the cost of perpetuating a system indefinitely just to try to be "nice" now. It genuinely put things in perspective for me, it helped me realize that we are still in the very infancy of humanity's history, that what we do today is going to set the stage for a thousand years from now.
I do think most of the radlibs (they're not even properly anarkiddies yet) here and the ones who went to leftpol (mostly) have revolutionary potential in them, and it needs to be questioned, cultured, and raised. Provoked, even, made to challenge their remaining liberalism. But they're not revolutionary yet.
