Since this is the Australia thread I just wanted to take a moment to mention unpaid trial shifts. What the fuck is this crap?

I'm from the US and have never encountered them before, and now I get kicked around like a cunt, working for free and never getting a call back. I feel ripped off by Australia in general: this place is liberal to the core. Fuck all the idiots who told me Victoria was a nice place to live because of coffee or trams or some bullshit.

Just so you know the law says they arent meant to keep you for 2 hours like everyone says. Its only meant to be long enough to demonstrate competence which can take upto 2 hours. But obviously employers take the piss.

I would say no to any trial that is getting you in during the busy period. Only people that get you in during the quiet times are serious since it gives them a chance to observe you and get to know you.

But yeah our rights at work are fucked. Victoria is going to criminalise wage theft. Hopefully the rest of the country follows suit.

Bloody communists…

Damn that's some extreme reddit spacing

Is there a single left-wing party in this country that would cut immigration/refugee intake and continue off-shore processing of asylum seekers?

No. and its a stupid idea.

Not really in the know about aussie politics, but regarding their loss I have only a few questions.
How much idpol comes from the labor party, what is their stance on immigration, and what are the environmental policies they proposed?

Katter's Australian Party is the only party in Australia that we support.

It is already existing NazBol

Katter has become a figurehead and nothing more. The social and anti poverty policies he pioneered have been destroyed so the newfags of the party can coalition with One Nation.

I want this thread to die. but ill reply. Labor isnt deep into idpol like Socialist alliance but its bad enough. Pretty standard for a mainstream party. Emilys list is a strong pressure group in the party
thats trying to get female representation and denouncing the fact that they dont yet.

On Immigration, not to be confused with asylum policy, they basically support the big australia model along with the libs. But they are serious about cracking down on skilled visa rorts. Im not sure about student visa rorts though.

Their environmental policies were good and they were greatly improved at the most recent conference. They acknowledged the extinction crisis. Probably werent going to seriously do anything about it though.
