Hosting video content costs a lot of money. Hosting general content makes it very hard to get lots of money from advertising. Advertisers have no idea what they're showing their ads on or who they're shown to, barring extreme and unethical levels of tracking. This was made very clear in Vid.me's post mortem. Youtube alone is a flaming money pit, but is a necessary part of Google's profiling system.
Only a narrowly-curated system like this is financially feasible, which is why Full30 exists right now. InRange TV is one of the lucky ones. Karl crying about his videos disappearing is just a front. His videos will not magically disappear without the existence of a porn hosting website. He just wants one more means of monetization.
I'm interested in seeing if Full30 continues to carefully curate uploaders in the long term because I think that's much smarter than selectively monetizing. Keeping a video online is a solved problem but getting money for making it is not.
