At least they finally got out of the sunk cost trap.

Woah it's almost as if stealth fighters are a meme or something!

It's almost as if the Su-57 wasn't even stealth to begin with and Russia decided to cancel it because they realized it would be a marginal improvement over their current plan of rebranding the Su-27 every couple years.

Ahahahahah.
I don't know what's more funny. The fact people actually believe that or the fact people are payed to write things that stupid.

Meanwhile in the real world.
archive.is/RSPTu

Su-57 are transferred from the 929th Squadron National Flight Test Center in Akhtubinsk to the Lipetsk Air Training Center for initial formations and unit testing.
Lipetsk gets the planes with their provisional engines (izdeliye 117) while Akhtubinsk will be working on testing the new engines (izdeliye 30).

AKA everything is going as planned and scheduled…

D-daddy Putin would never back a boondoggle! It's all 1837D chess! The Su-57 will be rolling off the production lines any day now! R-ROSSIYA STRONK!

Are you serious? How Russiaboo can you get? Some planes get sent to do some tests, and that's evidence that the plane is totally going to go into production, like seriously guise!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

If only we could have done the same circa 2010

>Axe the project before it ends up costing trillions of dollars, unlike someone else
At least they realized their memeplane was shitty early on.

Attached: 137.png (479x376, 297.38K)

How long until this happens with the F-22 / F-35? Is is even possible with all the moving (political) parts?
Either way my tax dollars will be added to the great F-35 pyre.

the f-35 got in combat with a bird and lost
should tell you enough

[citation needed]

Will Ace Combat ever be real now that muh stealth is beginning to reach meme status outside the (((West)))?

Well no, if the batch 0 planes are only now being transferred to a school unit (which count as "delivered to the airforce" but it's still far from operational units) batch 1 shouldn't start before 2021/2022, which is the time frame that was always given (they're actually ahead of schedule, testing of Izdeliye 30 deadline was 2020) and the deadline for the firsts combat units outfitted is 2025.
Ultimately T-50 airframes will replaces T-10 airframes, but there is no rush.
There was a rush before the F-35 came out because Russia (and China) actually bought Lockheed bullshit about the F-35.
Now that the F-35 have came out… no-one is worried anymore and programs have been considerably slowed and progressing at a much more normal rate.

The reality is the US main AD fighters for the foreseeable future are a discontinued model and a 4th gen model.
F-22 and F-15 will limp their way into service up the 2030's maybe 2040's.
The Su-57 is the future of the Russian air-force.
The F-22 is the past of the US air-force.
That's the reality of the situation.

But since people just can't wrap their head around such colossal failure and loss of capacities they outright imagine shit that is simply not real.
Go ahead find me ONE source in Russian that look somewhat official and says even half what OP is implying.

Didn't you hear, Frenchie? They're not producing any past the first twelve.

More revisionist history from the Russiaboo. Remember back when they were supposed to have 150 production model Su-57s by 2020, with the first production units being actively deployed by 2016, instead of just twelve pre-production models for testing?

theaviationist.com/2015/04/07/t-50-pak-fa-new-problems/

*2016

Clearly, now that it's been canceled.

"It's not that Russia can't deliver on it's claims, it's that they're just so confident that they're voluntarily delaying development by almost a decade and canceling all but twelve of the aircraft!"

You're grasping at straws at this point.

You mean like the Russian Air Force, with the exception that the "discontinued model" you disingenuously mentioned is a fifth generation aircraft?

ROSSIYA STRONK! ROSSIYA CONQUER DECADENT WEST ANY DAY NOW!

We still got more planes in service than the Russians ever will of the Su-57

Of the Su-57? I agree.

You goddamn fucking retarded mongrel, I'm explicitly making fun of the russians for their memeplane, AND also making fun of the trash-35 at the same time.
Your reading comprehension is so fucking abhorrent I wish I could kill you right now.

How much do they pay you guys?

Nah, Ace Combat is dependent upon nuke tech being rare and extremely far behind the real world. Otherwise it would collapse into MAD like we have.

...

Borisov NEVER EVER said that. It's pure fiction from insane western "defense analyst". He said something that was some basic political comment on because the federal budget cuts on 2015-2020 military budget that the "program had to be tailored to said cuts".
That's it.
Suddenly to the presstitute the program was cancelled in 2014…
Wait aren't we in 2018?

Again this is PURE FICTION.
The Russian MoD only ever committed to a prototype/pre-serie batch of 12 airframe (only 11 actually fly one is a even ground frame) and planned room in the 2015-2020 budget for 60 (not 55), but didn't committed any funds, more if everything was going fast but without operational capability before 2020 (next budget).

This is classic "journalism", make up the fake news, refers to the fake news to make more news when the fake news turn out to be false (which anyone that actually read the primary source knew all along).

Again pure fiction, the initial AND ONLY order (because Russia isn't the US, they don't order shit before the testing is done, looking at you F-35 and Eurofighter) was 12 AIRFRAMES.
1 (06) doesn't even fly it's a ground test airframe.

Again everyone knows since day one the program always called for a new engine and the first planes tested THE AIRFRAMES first with a placeholder and it's engine would follow. This is beyond creative any sort of creative "reporting", this is just lies, plain and simple.

This is the level of the shit that is written about the Su-57 in the "defense press" since day fucking one.
It's some level of bias and cognitive dissonance I have never witnessed in anything else. The NYT is less biased against Trump than this shit is.

Russia CANNOT HAVE STEALTH PLANE.
Because defense journalists in the west (and totally not Lockheeb) collectively decided that stealth was great (instead of a fucking gimmick) and that no-one but the US can make it and so no-one else will EVER have any.
Pesky reality be damned.

I guess if you want it to be, it is. Anything to keep the dream of a Stronk Rossiya alive, amirite?

…along with 200 production planes, including around fifty double-seaters that never materialized, as well as almost 200 to be sold to India (which has no dropped out of the program due to all the delays and cost overruns).

Again go find me a semi-official Russian source saying that.

Not some random politician claiming BS (do you want me to list you how much Rafale we've been "almost selling" according to them over the past 3 decades?), a statement by sukhoi or the Russian MoD saying that shit.

You won't find it.
Because it doesn't exist.

>implying Russia needs an air force to defeat a western NATO soon to be primarily comprised of F-35s with little to no dedicated ground attack aircraft/bombers or using the F-35 as its dedicated ground attack platform

Stealth was a meme in ace combat also, don't you remember.

And they still did better in Syria than Nato did in Libya. Really makes you think, if you still can.

You're wrong, but whatever. They "did better" if you only look at the official goals told by the official press.
But if you know what are the real purposes of these wars, being the balkanization of these countries, private interests buying the central bank, followed by chaos to be able to steal everything without anyone giving a fuck… since there is no government, then it's more of a win/win.

In syria, Daesh/Fatah Al Cham etc… are americans are israelies, and the goal is to make the region explode, to protect/make place for Israel, and to open the way straight to Iran. The defeat of Iran would mark the absolute win for Israel. Now, I don't know if it's a win or not. Russia works for Israel too, never ever forget that.
The Yemenite war seem to be a disaster though.
They're all participating in the building of Israel, the "center of the NWO" with Jerusalem as the capital of the NWO. The only difference here between USA/Russia, else than simple economical interests, is how they see the NWO, how they want it to be implemented.

Italy, France, and Britain were supposed to run that campaign but, they couldn't complete the mission on their own and had to have the US step into a much larger role. This hammers home that all of Nato's teeth are American; things have gotten worse since then, have to afford those future doctors.

"The contract, which Bangalore-based Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) will sign with Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), will commit to building 250 fighters for the IAF and an equal number for Russia. The option for further orders will be kept open. HAL and UAC will be equal partners in a joint venture company, much like the Brahmos JV, that will develop and manufacture the FGFA."

WW3 fucking when, I want the next syrian missile standoff to go beyond mere political posturing and removal of old cruise missile surplus.

Attached: come on boy.jpg (355x369, 109.7K)

FFS you're a brit you should know them better than than that it's the same BS as India buying a gazillion Rafale (400… yeah), because India always insist their factories build them, then systematically Poo factory can only makes poo which India blames on evil foreigners and systematically India ends up buying a fraction of what they announced directly off the shelf in kits with assembly made by poos under heavy evil supervision…

That's true for Poo tanks, Poo planes, Poo guns, Poo helicopters you name it.
Why would it suddenly be any different?

...

Your eternal nature is showing.
Now tell me how weak and pitiful Russia will be militarily defeated in an earnest non-nuclear engagement between European NATO and evil racist Pootin in %CURRENT_YEAR.
Shitposting aside there's little reason for the Ruskies to field more than a dozen of these given the state of affairs. The J-20 is seemingly a meme and NATO chairforces are crumbling under their own body positivity outreach programmes, Poos already have their own selfmade fighter poo backed up by Mirages+existing Russian aircraft and stealth is a waste of taxpayer money anyhow.
I remember hearing some rumors a few years back that Mikoyan or some other bureau were drawing up concepts for a lightweight 5th gen successor to the MiG-29. Was that a meme and if not did it go anywhere?

Again why the fuck would they be?

India did the EXACT same shit with MMRCA, they made a list of growing and outright impossible demand, to which HAL, primary contractor, always answers: "yes we can do that" and to which foreign companies (in this case Sukhoi but for MMRCA it was Dassault) answers by "lol, no".
Then Indian politicians believes that the farts noises they've heard from journalists and HAL are somehow Gospel and breaks contracts in a huff.
To come back to a much worse deal for india once the army remind them they kind of need that shit which was the reason for the contract to exist in the first place and just buy the equipment instead of developing their shitty industry.

janes.com/article/79457/india-withdraws-from-fgfa-project-leaving-russia-to-go-it-alone
>The completed FGFA should have included a total of 43 improvements over the Su-57, including stealth, supercruise, advanced sensors, networking and combat avionics. The Indian version was supposed to be a two-seater for pilot and co-pilot/weapon systems operator (WSO).
This not AT ALL the FGFA deal, this is the wet dream of the IAF/HAL.
The FGFA deal was, Shukhoi makes a new plane, India pays for the R&D and gets new sukhois at the same time the Russian gov' gets them (instead of monkey models).
India involvement is minimal besides some technical reports.

It's the exact same type of deal YOU HAVE WITH LOCKHEED.
The BAe can say they want their F-35 in 2011 to be tandem seated and going mach 3+ they will be told to go fuck themselves all the same. Because ultimately paying for part of the R&D is just paying for a VIP ticket in a showroom. You get a nice seat but you don't get to run the show.
The rest is just gigantic bullshit made up by Indian politicians.

Literally "instead of trying to make them in India we will just buy what the Russian gov' sells to us".
That's EXACTLY the same as what happened with the Rafale deal.
Or the Mirage deal prior to that.
Or the Sukhoi deal prior to that.
Or the MiG deal prior to that.
Or the Bo 105 deal prior to that (well they finally managed to make some… after 20 years of prototyping).

Whatever it is, clearly too much, since he's so unconvincing.

Seeing that Russia has always and forever been fucking terrible in any offensive war, I think we will be fine. The only skill those subhumans have is lying out of their ass and covering up mistakes like the N1. Despite the fact that every single time it was launched it created the worlds largest, man made, non-nuclear explosion I STILL see retards jacking it off as somehow superior to the Saturn V.

Other disasters and paper tigers can be observed with the BMP1 with its one man turret, MCLOS ATGM, main gun that cant hit stationary targets past 500 meters and paper thin steel armor that can be pierced from the front by AP.50BMG and side armor that will be perforated by AP 7.62x51. They couldn't make it out of aluminum to get better protection while keeping its water fording capability because they never figured out how to weld it.

The Mig-25 which looked super scary because it could catch an SR-71 until it turned out it flew like a brick because it was made entirely out of stainless steel and because of that, maneuvered like a brick and could only fly as fast as the black bird once before its turbines melted and air frame was severely damaged.

The Mig-29 was also super scary. It can beat an F-16 in a turning fight! but it turns out that its radar is Tiger electric tier making it pretty much blind in BVR.

The SU-25 has tons of armor plating all over it! But its engines straddle the fuel tanks so if a blade shatters from an impact you get a burning hot blade right in your aviation fuel.

The GSh-6-30 weighs a lot less than the GAU-8 and shoots way faster! But it literally shakes the aircraft firing it apart because of the insane recoil and harmonic vibrations from it being too light and terribly balanced.

The Mi-28 has so much armor it can shrug off autocannon fire fielded by any NATO SPAAG! But it only holds 250 rounds of ammo in its 30mm cannon. An AH-64 holds 1500 rounds.

The MI-24 was the super scary flying IFV that could carry ungodly amounts of weapons and a team of 8 airborne assault troopers, but it cant actually carry both weapons and troops at once and it cant hover or take off vertically.

The Soviets never developed the CNC machine, never figured out that you need to use kerosene as a cutting fluid to machine Titanium, and to my knowledge, never had an ARMANET like computer network. They needed to fire two missiles at Korean air 007 because the first one couldn't track a fucking jumbo jet flying in a straight line! They lost every military engagement in Afghanistan once the CIA niggers gave the durkas the stinger and pulled out quicker and taking less overall casualties than the US in Nam, showing that the soviet stronk generation was actually weaker than our fucking boomers in the 60s. When the Gulf war happened you faggots thought that the Iraqis equipped with the latest and greatest SOVIET MIGHT would crush us, but then 73 eastings happened. BUT OH NO! THIS TIME THEY ARE REALLY TELLING THE TRUTH AND WILL BEAT US!

Attached: sas_firing_1.jpg (1024x682 599.61 KB, 110.88K)

They're literally just citing a deal that was made between India and Russia. I don't care how little you want to believe it, that doesn't make it any less true.

…so now you're admitting it's true, but it's the Indians' fault? Of course, it couldn't possibly be GLORIOUS ROSSIYA!

Of course! Because the original Su-57 design incorporates all GLORIOUS ROSSIYAN DESIGN and is in no need of improvement! It is the very image of perfection; it is flawless. How could it not be – it was designed by GLORIOUS ROSSIYA! And GLORIOUS ROSSIYA never makes any design flaws – everything designed by GLORIOUS ROSSIYA is perfect!

Well, with only twelve planes in the total inventory they're going to have to pony up quite a sum to pay for such a limited-edition item.

When a bunch of Slavs make you look stupid, it's time to rethink things.

Attached: shiggy space program.jpg (97x116, 2.46K)

American education is amazing.

...

That's pretty badass.

Jesus you're a dumb nigger. Russia is sitting on oil it can't get rid of.

Don't forget the fact that the Russians can't pull off turbine metallurgy making their engines last about as long as a piston engine that was made 60 years ago (to the point that the Chinese are actually improving on their engine designs starting with the RD-93 derivatives).

The MiG-29 can outturn an F-16 CLEAN but with a central fuel tank and missiles it's about on par with an F-4 with its spine buckling under the pressure (Which is why the MiG-35 looks like a camel in comparison).

They can't equip their infantry for their conscript army worth a shit and right now they're using Western Optics because the Russian ones can't hold zero worth ass or the ones that can are too heavy to be useful.

Frenchie is right when he says they're just restructuring based on the performance of the F-35, but will it be worth a damn? Most likely it won't be.

Someone please tell me there's a chance they'll go back to this.

Attached: Su-47_-Grabacr-_flyby_1.jpg (1280x720, 67.91K)

Nope, they'll most likely keep the Su-57 to research ways to fight against stealth tech from the ground and in the air with 4.5 Gen aircraft (Kind of what the Chinese did with the J-20 for Air to Air testing).

No surprise. Why develop fighters and shit when you can steal money instead?

Well it costs them fuck all to draw and design concept-planes. Gotta keep those engineers busy after all.

And that exact same shit happened with their meme-tank. They wanted it to do everything, but in proper pajeet fashion it basically became a economical black hole on tracks.

It's a fucking conscript army. Are you that out of touch with reality that you don't even know what's the point in conscript armies? You don't equip conscripts with shit you can't afford to lose or replace. You equip conscripts with shit that is good enough and is cost-efficient, and can be replaced cheaply. Just like the fucking conscripts themselves.

Attached: this_kills_the_american.jpg (940x528, 39K)

Only USA can accord to spend 650 billions dollars in their army, no others. Moreover, europe is under american domination, after WW2. So that's pretty much evident.

I know that ISIS mean too israeli secret intelligence service. Who cares about their name. The militias are changing name so often. Fatah al Cham is the new name of Al Nostra, which is the name of the syrian branch of Al Quaida.
And I bet they have already changed it.
These militias are actually taking names reported in false hadith. They're not random.

I'm sorry, during the cold war all the NATO armies were conscript armies and they had the best equipment they could manage at the time.

People tend to forget that conscription in most of these NATO countries only ended quite recently.

Now, Because they're conscripts, does that mean you can't fucking feed them?!

Singapore seems to equip their troops quite well, same for Switzerland.

Jesus, it's just that the Russians don't value human life, not that "much conscript army" bullshit.

Its not like Switzerland or Singapore have sanction shit to deal with.

The N1 failed because OKB-1 kept pissing Korolev off with their stupid bureaucracy and rivalries. Even NASA admitted that their propulsion system was a better design than Saturn V's. They bought a shitload of them for their future projects.

No they're not. They're saying what they IMAGINE what the deal between GLORIOUS INDIA and Russia is, specifics of the deal is secret official declarations on the deal is what I stated. Because Indians and Indians journalists in particular, always imagine they're the ones with the strong position in those deals (when they're really not).

It happens with everything. With their rifles, with the subs (both Russian and European) anything they try to do domestically. It's part of the dynamic of power they have so every time the good idea fairy strike a politician/general the industrial say "yes". Which is not how this works. Especially when the Indians company are glorified slave providers using someone else tech and know how.

Which is why going to "indian sources" on weapon deals isn't reliable. Because they have a phone-book size history with every major weapon producer (Israel: drone, guns, France: plane, ships, subs, Russia: planes, tanks, subs, ships, Germany: helicopters, US: planes, helicopters, UK: tanks, artillery, South Africa: tanks, helicopters) of the same type of deals going sideways because Indians always behave like retards and they have SYSTEMATICALLY blamed their foreign partners for it and have also always ended up buying the same shit but made by foreigners rather than domestically.

Screen-cap this because they're gonna declare the Rafale isn't a safe plane because of how many the IAF is gonna crash because they just can't into basic maintenance.
Indian magic is turning to poo everything they touches.

That ship's too small for a cloaking device!

Probably this.

...

Since when is admitting you have fucked up and stoping making the fuck up 999d chess.
This is why you have an opioid crisis

The local population can feed them.

t. Zhang Xun

The worst part in this that I basically agree with you.
Russian stuff is hardly better than ours, especially when it comes to aircraft where I disagree is "how hard it is to make something like a YF-23 in 2018, when they flew in 1986?".
Because even if Russia engineering is 30 years they can pull it off, not because Russia is better but because the West happily pissed away their engineering tech edge.

That doesn't change the fact that the quality of "reporting" on the Su-57 program is so abysmally low that there is no reliable ways to get information on it.

That's what really ticks me off.
Maybe they're really making something similar in capacity as a 30 year old US design (again is that an achievement? No not really.) but we have no way to know if it's real or not because the guys in charge of doing so are too busy congratulating each other about imaginary events.

I definitely agree with that, the West is too busy with Wunderwaffe programs while China is just looking for cheap ways to conduct warfare. Even a backwater group where the majority of them cannot read or write can get a bunch of arduinos and slap some explosives on what amounts to a model plane and have a drone swarm they can use to disrupt a more advanced enemy.

The commercial sector as is, is more advanced than the military for the first time since modern military technological research but the top brass of NATO and Russia (Maybe some of them in China as well) haven't realized this yet.

There is zero confirmation on this, the fuck would you post it?

Do you have fucking brain damage? Support your claims or fuck off.

Wrong board for this shit.

...

Nigger I don't even know if OP pic is real, much less whether it's standard propaganda/fake news or not.

Welcome to Clown World, circa 2018.

I can kind of understand where the various air forces were going with that line of thinking, but their logic only makes sense over a window in time that has since passed them by. The bomber fleets of the world's premier air forces were strategically "good enough" to achieve all the goals expected of them in the early post Cd War period.

To meaningfully improve upon heavy bombers such as the B-52, Avro Vulcan, or Tu-95 would require a massive investment in R&D and a huge flyaway cost per airframe (See: B-1, B-2, Tu-160, etc). It simply didn't make sense to continue developing new designs and it also didn't make sense to keep buying new examples of outdated designs, especially when converting more up-to-date fighter designs to handle light bombing duties was so much less expensive.

Unfortunately, that kind of thinking stuck around a decade or two longer than it logically should have. The fleets of older heavy bombers are now so old that many of them were simply retired due to the airframes reaching their fatigue limit (Avro Vulcan being the #1 example). We can't keep re-winging B-52s forever and even the last "new" heavy bomber designs (B-1, B-2) are becoming difficult to service. That's why you've seen such a rapid scramble to get the B-21 Raider program off the ground, at least the US has realized they are royally fucked if they can't get a large number of airframes into service within the next decade.

If heavy strategic bombers are a mene then why does the West hate dedicated ground attack aircraft so much?

Because the chairforce fap to planes duels same as the chairvalry fap to tank duels and the chairfantry fap to small arms effectiveness.
Even if all of it is completely irrelevant in modern warfare.

What does the Navy fap to?

That would explain their random sexual outburts on civilian cargo ships.
