About 13 hours before he was fired as secretary of state, Rex Tillerson issued perhaps his toughest comments to date on Russia. He said that a nerve agent used on a former Russian spy in Britain last week “clearly came from Russia.” He also called Russia “an irresponsible force of instability in the world, acting with open disregard for the sovereignty of other states and the life of their citizens.”
It was perhaps his last major act as secretary of state. But was it the reason for his dismissal — or even a last straw?
Secretary Tillerson’s firing sets a profoundly disturbing precedent in which standing up for our allies against Russian aggression is grounds for a humiliating dismissal,” said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Added Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.): “Just hours ago, Rex Tillerson became the lone Trump administration cabinet official to stand with the United Kingdom in condemning Russia’s nerve agent attack on English soil. Donald Trump’s reaction to Tillerson’s support of a close American ally facing threats from Russia was to fire him.”

this. exactly. in the real world (corporate world) as an exec/manager/someone with authority, you can fire people. the problem is, if you're a new exec and you've been there for a year and you start firing a lot of the people YOU hired in the first place, that only shows that you don't know what the fuck you're doing. firing a couple people might be ok, a few might be worrying, but a couple dozen or so? at that point that's when the board realizes the only common denominator in this problem is you and you should be shown the door. trump is the problem. he flutters from one lie to the next, one position to the opposite contradiction, none of his staff know what the hell to think, do or say, and if they happen to be on the wrong side of something when trump decides to flip his script on a whim because it supports his latest lie, they get fired. the only one who deserves to get fired is trump, for his ineptitude. case in point, after firing tillerson for blaming russia after the evidence was clearly presented to him, now trump is echoing him exactly as his spokeswoman has done the exact same thing. so what did he get fired for? probably because trump is such a narcissist, HE wanted to make the statement himself first, instead of, you know, let his secretary of state do his actual job, which is foreign affairs.
