Zig Forums receive typically a dozen of request from the US LEO a year and they comply with every last one of the m(stop pretending they have any other choice).

The only way they would be able to not comply with the requests is if they moved the servers outside of the US or took the US to court.
Both of which aren't worth it compared to how infrequent the requests are.
The US courts (and most western courts) have granted themselves right of extra-territoriality over anything internet: as long as it can be accessed from the US, US laws apply to it's content.
Meaning they can still pursue you AND you lose the US-based business legal protection (which is still one of the most extensive on the planet and if things really comes to that you can always argue anything 8ch does is covered by the 1st amendment).
Now sure if you have the cash like DDL sites and whatnot you can bounce around SE asia servs and banks regularly making it impossible for the US red tape-laden bureaucracy to catch up, but a small structure like 8ch can't do that, meaning if they did move one day the party van would roll up in whatever shithole the servs are and lock everyone up.
