I have no idea where the stigma against 4channers come from. Most people probably came to 8 chan after hearing it on 4chan its not like people just jump to here from normie book.

It’s typical chan elitism. Which more and more I think is complete crap. 90% (ok I made up that figure) of people on the chans are incredibly flawed people. I remember I was on /r9k/ last year (shortly before I left it for good) and some weeb was going on about how newfags needed to be shamed and ignored. He made a number of long posts waffling on about his neckbeard philosophy, while simultaneously posting 2d homosexual pornography. The contrast between this person claiming superiority while having no shame whatsoever regarding his vile sexual desires really disturbed an annoyed me. Especially considering that in my early chan days I would have treated this person seriously.

Disagree the kind of people that move here from 4chan, myself included, like the old elitism of 4chan and expect the bullying upon finding the slightly more secret and less mainstream club. We're the neckbeard hipsters, whether we want to admit it or not…

4chan became compromised to an offensive extent, the people who stayed are accepting the problem with the board. With that said, 8 chan is reaching the same problems.

I find Zig Forums to be a compromise between quitting 4chan outright (or any chan for that matter) and still trying to be part of Anonymous which I grew up with, as sad as that is for me to say.

What do you legitimately get out of /biz/? It's filled with scammers and legitimate redditors who all piled in during the Bitcoin bubble this past Winter. The only people that post there are redditors holding heavy bags and those who have made it complain-bragging about their newfound financial independence. Unfortunately the spillover has affected other boards, especially /g/.

IMO I really like how you can create custom boards on Zig Forums that would never be made on 4chan thats why I post on Zig Forums.

I dont see any reason to post on 8 Zig Forums or /adv/ since its the same shit as 4chan but it takes two days for someone to respond to you

It stems from the gamergate fiasco. Most people who left during that time were fed up with the moderation and left for greener pastures, much to the derision of those who stayed. Like said, the people who stayed behind pretty much implicitly accepted the shambles the website was in. They kept saying we'd be back within weeks, and the fact we persisted made us smug. We tried hard in the beginning to start something new and mocked the people who said it wouldn't work. Naturally that bred some animosity.

Now that Zig Forums is established, we attract halfchanners who come here without knowing any of this. We have a different overall culture here and people who don't know that stand out. Plus, the 4chan we knew even a couple years ago doesn't exist anymore. Every year the site gets bigger and the communities it had get more and more diluted by users unwilling to lurk and learn about unwritten culture (now nearly 15 years of it). Immigrants are less acclimated to imageboards than ever before for this reason.

All that goes without even touching on the notion of slow/dead boards – regardless of the website traffic, given the way boards are made here it's natural that a lot of them would end up slow. If you check Alexa, 8ch has been on a steady incline of users for a while now. We're very far from being dead, though I readily admit that we could do more to promote smaller boards. The list at the top that switches out every week or so is a good start.

Thanks for the responce fam. I only started posting on Zig Forums when I got permabanned from 4chan so I was unaware about the drama that happened years ago
