Shit ton of work went into that, impressive. Very overbuilt for a .22 caliber firearm if the placard is to be believed.

It looks very plain aside from the furnishings, user. He just got his lines right which seems to be a big issue for people.

Why in .22 ?
I mean the most common caliber in Europe is 9mm.

Reasons.
The most common might not be the best for a particular role, for instance.

Feels like a child of a dystopian hong kong. AKA: hong kong
Also, while 9mm may be the most available europe wide. .22 may be easier to get in kurwa land.

.22 is also relatively quiet compared to other calibers, even unsuppressed.
Might give a reason for the scope.

Speaking of India, I remember a thread on an Indian weapons forum some years back where a police man posted the contents of their weapons storage at the station. It was an amazing assortment, all sort of Lee-Enfields, Webleys, a Webley-Fosbery, .476 Enfield revolvers, Sten guns, Bren guns, Thompsons, Greener riot guns. It was an amazing cache that will die on that continent thanks to their strict gun laws. They're still sitting on piles of Ishapore 2A1s that I wish they would send to the US. Another fun fact, the last run of .303 British chamberd Lee-Enfield No.1 MkIII's was made in the 1980's at Ishapore during a rise in tensions between Indian and China.

Yeah, India is all sorts of fugged.
But hey, at least they have .32 S&W not-Webleys to reach for if someone tries to kill them with an actual weapon!

Has anyone tried one of Bill Holmes designs?

Attached: volume 5.pdf (volume 1.pdf)

I don't think anyone feels like posting their shit on Zig Forums if they even go through with it, most of the other thread was tossing ideas around.

Someone built the 9mm SMG from his fourth book.

Nice. I am torn on the music.
I wonder though: did that guy not use any coolant for his tools? I know some people don't like to use coolant because it's a hassle to clean, but not cooling your tooling make you look like a drooling retard.

It's a manual machine, you're not cutting at sanic fast SFM, it's really not necessary for low intensity work. Plus, not everyone has the whole setup of pump, nozzle, basin, filter, et al. I would've at least used some cutting oil when chasing the threads, though.

You don't need a whole setup for some coolant, just an old gatorrade bottle and a bowl.
Do you mean manual as in hand-cranked, or manual as in non-comper-assisted? Cooling can certainly be useful for the latter too.

I mean 'manual' as in a non-numerically-controlled machine that may or may not have a power feed. Not unless we're talking about something like a 19th century treadle lathe.
And yeah, you can apply coolant with a spray bottle or similar, but in my experience that tends to turn it into a three handed operation.

I may sound like a purists but god damn the only thing I would weld shit on is the receiver.

Attached: 1417537481279.jpg (476x447, 68.44K)

I'm not asking for pics or personal information, just advice if the designs are sound or if time would be better spent using other manuals.

Very nice, thank you.

Yeah because Police and Military carry 22lr and not 9mm right?!

y'ave a loicense for that pasta?

Does anyone have information on the topic milled vs stamped vs welded?
Milling is the most expensive but accurate way, stamped seems to be a middle way and welding everything together is pretty much the most "ghetto" way.
Is there any gun where most parts are stamped?

< a German.
You never served in the army, did you?
MG42 and MG3
Alle Sturmgewehre
The G3/CETME and derivated (MP5)
Early AKs
The Volkspistole
SA80 used lots of stamped parts as far as I know

Also: you got your terminology all wrong.
Milling and Stamping are forming processes. You use them to form a part of a certain shape. Welding is a connection method. You use welding to connect two or more pieces.

I already knew that.

Nope, Nope.
For AK receivers and G3/Mp5 receivers you can just stamp a metal plate to get a receiver and press them in form with a jig.
For an AK Receiver you can actually mill just 3 plates of metal together.
While making a M4/16/Ar 15 Receiver you have to mill that fucking thing it out of an piece of aluminum.
Or is there a stamped M16 Receiver I'm not aware of?

you what

Sorry I meant welding.

You completely misunderstood me.
Maybe you should read DIN 8580. Get learned, strelok.
Milling (dt.: Fräsen) is a separating shape-giving process (dt.: Trennender Formveränderungsvorgang). Stamping (dt.: Biegen) is a cold re-shaping process (Kaltumformverfahren).
Welding doesn't alter the shape of a part. Instead it connects multiple ends.
Welding (dt.: Schweißen) is a connection process which used Welding (dt.: Fügen durch Schweißlen).

Fuck Beuth.

Attached: Umformverfahren-Hauptgruppen.jpg (900x527, 228.49K)

I think what he means is there are three methods of construction of receivers. While welding isn't a shaping method it is a distinct method of construction so far as firearms go.

i found this, what do you think of the method of creating rifling, Zig Forums? There's been a few discussions about homemade rifling but no mention of this method.

Would small dumbbells make a good self defense weapon?

Attached: vintage-sporting-equipment-body-building-weight-lifting-weights-3-lb-5-lb-dumbbells-Laurel-Leaf-Farm-item-no-nt12230-1.jpg (640x426, 70.54K)

Yes, concealing them would be your main issue due to length, but they'd be excellent hand load and blunt impact devices.

What if you walk around with them like you're trying to lose weight?

I'd ask why you don't have wrist weights instead

Wrist weight would make excellent handload devices as well but wouldn't be as good a blunt instrument as the dumbbell.

True, but they're easier to explain than dumbbells when you're out and about

As I understand it, you are basically inserting a steel rod into your barrel that seals the walls off, expect for the places you want the rifling to be. Then you pump salt water through those holes and hook it up with a weak electric current. This makes the metal rust away in the spots where it actually contacts the water, leaving you with a very shallow rifling.
Looks easy enough, and very easy to reproduce reliably. Making the insert would be the hardest part, and the fag in the link you posted (as well as his sources) use 3D printed inserts. You could just take a rod with a rectangular cross section and twist it to get the same effect.

A close friend of mine is a master gunsmith.
He used to do an apprenticeship and I have a copy of his syllabus and bibliography.
Does anyone want me to post it here?
It'll take up 8 posts and I don't want to just spam the thread.

Do it lad. We can't let precious info go to waste and be forgotten.

See if you can turn it into a PDF instead of posting the raw text.

There's like ten different variations on everything you listed there and then there's smaller variations within those variations.

You are like a little baby: hooktube.com/watch?v=cVQs4YGm_XE

Yeah, I'm a dumbass.
I should have turned it into a PDF a long time ago.
Anyway, here it is.
Unfortunately, this apprenticeship isn't available any more as the guy is working on selling the shop and retiring.

This reminds me of the thread on either homegunsmithforums or weaponeer about folks putting real slides on 20usd airshit glock lowers.

Ofc, they don't want the minorities to have access to power, or anyone else not them.

What was the result of mating real slides with fake lowers?

Yeah, the airshit copies were similarly sized to actual Glock receivers for the time, so all you needed was a parts kit since the polymer doesn't take much of a hit when firing.
Of course, that, the Iron Glock kit/schematics, as well as Polymer 80 bumped up the price of the otherwise useless parts kits, so it's no longer practical.

Attached: ds16.jpg (600x399 179.63 KB, 31.98K)

They had to add some steel parts to keep the slides mated, but they worked.
From 10 to 150 rounds tested.
Some survived 20rounds before braking, some more. But what can be expected of a 15usd ABS airshit lower?
The more expensive glassfilled nylon stuff survived better (because airshitters want similar polymers to "real steel").

pps43 and grease gun. only things that aren't milled on pps43 are the barrel, bolt, receiver mating block. for the grease gun, only the bolt and barrel aren't stamped.

I used to take a needle and put it in a mechanical pencil in place of lead. While it can break easily and won't do much damage, it is easily disguised and deploys quickly. I suppose if you dip it in shit or poison then it would be much more effective.

Could you just drill a hole in a block of wood, drill a touch hole, and make a relatively safe small-caliber black powder pistol? By safe I mean at least able to fire one shot without excessively endangering the user en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wooden_cannon

Attached: viet wood cannon 2.jpg (1920x906 163.52 KB, 286.04K)

Why would you do something so reckless and foolhardy when you can get a perfectly good steel pipe from any hardware store or junkyard in the country.

The only reason wooden cannons were ever a thing is because they didn't have access to foundries or good metal in sufficient quantity.

dead niggers

Attached: improvisedshotgun89352.jpg (640x362, 65.22K)

Hey guys am an autistic kid who gets bullied at school. I want a gun to shoot it up i am thinking of building a he made weapons since there are strict gun laws in my country but guess what? I have like zero experience can someone help?

Do you think ATF would regard the VG1-5 as "easily convertible"? I feel like it would be a good action for a homebuild semi-auto. I plan on using an AR-15 trigger pack since that pleases the ATF and they're cheap and easy to find. I just feel like the unlocked nature of the action may make the Feds antsy. Did Ian's vaporware VG1-5 project need any mods to get BATFE approval, or had they gotten to the point of requesting approval yet?

The Gustloff Volkssturmgewehr is hammer-fired and uses a closed bolt, and all rifles actually produced and can be copied are semi-automatic only as the fully-automatic version was a prototype that was never actually made.

Blowback firearms are not illegal, user.

Attached: 1319231578256.jpg (640x480, 64.04K)

I didn't say they were illegal, but BATFE is an inconsistent son of a bitch that is intentionally vague about "easily convertible". The only criteria I know of is no open bolts, but plenty of closed bolts have been given the no-go for whatever reason. Constant point of consternation for semi-auto builders working off of obscure parts kits. Then we can all remember the whole shoe string debacle. Or the time they seized a bunch of airsoft guns. I just know the a blowback firearm of any variety is tends to be more mechanically pliant in this regard than a locking action.

You're going to have to link them, because they're more heavy-handed on fire control groups or the ability to attach an FA FCG to a firearm.

What I had in mind is most of your machinegun parts kits build where modifications are required to prevent the insertion of full-auto internals. This generally includes unmodified bolt assemblies. Even lacking such internals, and lacking the ability to fire automatically as such, they'll still land you in hot water. Your reduced ID tube guns and anything that requires a denial island fall under that. Oh fuck it. I'll build the damned thing and they can come get it if they want it that bad.

"Land you in hot water" is in reference to using a receiver that, even if constructed for semi-automatic fire, can still fit enough original internal parts to displease ATF. Whatever line that happens to be, but fitting the original bolt in a semi-automatic sten, Maxim, or M1919 is a known no-no regardless of the firing style of the end product.
