yeah it would be a bitch to deploy to america but lifting the union blockade and trading with the confederacy would be a massive boon by itself, i don't think a very extensive intervention would be needed and i think you're underplaying the british army
i think a bigger argument against is how you keep a militarily superior union from just annexing the south in 10 20 30 years regardless of if they lose the war
