It is kind of surreal to me, especially given the limited scale of conflict. I mean i probably wouldnt feel guilty about killing a enemy but i would probably feel some kind of remorse after reporting death of my enemy to his mother and hearing her sadnes

Killing someone who's trying to kill you shouldn't make you feel guilty, as it's basically self-preservation at that point. Calling their mom feels wrong in a way that I can't quite articulate. Like, I would feel less hesitation towards shooting someone than I would telling their parents that I just killed their child. It seems like the sort of thing that could hurt you just as much as it hurts them.
