Is it morally ethical for Christians to take compounds just to lower their compulsion towards lust? we hear every trick in the book from priests: take a cold shower, exercise, fasting, contacting others, avoiding internet, etc & etc, yet many still have a tough time controlling ourselves, especially when they're teenagers.

The reason I ask is because when I was researching on Xanthohumol (from the Hop flower) for it's Ngf properties, I fell into this article newswise.com/articles/hops-compound-may-prevent-prostate-cancer

Since testosterone receptors act similarly to that of estrogen…the researchers examined whether xanthohumol might not only block the effects of estrogen, but also of the male hormone androgen.

In short, It might stop or reduce the juices responsible for sexual arousal, thus any participate under xanthohumol may not experience high libido.

Even if I misunderstood the article, in general, is taking a nofap pill unwise in your mind? Please share what's on your mind.

No. It is sinful. Do as the priests have advised. If that doesn't work, find a wife.

If it works so well, it'd make the idea of self-discipline seem obsolete to it's proponents.
The main focus of abstaining from such a sinful activity is to exercise control over one's base, primal instincts, in favor of what God commands. To take away that focus would be to neglect the power that God gives you; to have dominion over your carnal desires.

Ideally, you would stop fapping. But πορνεια is not a passion easily disposed of. I struggle with it too, bud. St Paisios the Athonite struggled with it well into old age. It's likely something we'll both battle throughout our lives.

The key is to get back up every time you are knocked down. The key is to let your shortcomings bring you closer to Christ. You are tethered to Christ. Every time you give in to the world, Satan grabs his scissors and cuts the rope. Every time you repent, Christ ties the ends back together. And behold, the rope gets shorter and shorter and you draw closer and closer to Christ.

If you take dick-softening pills, however, this process is averted and you miss out on a tremendous opportunity to get nearer to God.

Taking cold showers increases the libdo and is better for sperm production than hot showers. Nothing fundamentally wrong with that, since your libdo is supposed to drive you towards getting married and having kids, but don't count on it to make your nofap easier.

That's like asking if its okay to lobotomize yourself to stop yourself from denying God during your lifespan. If you do not develop some character and willpower for yourself then it's all just wasted as what will happen when you don't have that drug? You'll most likely just make up some excuse how you have to continue your bad habits due to the lack of the drug.

Most of the replies on here advocate the use of willpower against masturbation. It's more complicated than that. It is very difficult to fight against the body. Try abstaining from all food for 48 hours except for water then return with your willpower and discipline arguments. In the eyes of a man who masturbates, trying to abstain implies that he is losing something. It implies that he is losing pleasure. Why do you think porn addicts count the days they've 'quit'? It's like you counting the days you've 'quit' eating curry.

My point is that quitting by simply using your willpower is difficult. You continue in sin. A soldier using a sword may have more discipline than a soldier using a gun, but a gun is more effective at killing. I don't like using a drug like this to stop, but neither do I like failing time and time again because I don't have the strength or mindset to stop.

◄ Hebrews 10:26 ►
For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

no bad medicine
find woman
make woman wife
empty seed in woman
no more bad thought

#1 the theory that testosterone increases prostate cancer is false. Prostate cancer chamce icreases as men age, testosterone decreases with age, estrogen incteases.
#2 blocking test receptors is risky and stupid unless you want a sex change. Your libido could remain the same while your erections might be impossible leaving you with an itch you can't scratch. How people react to blocked receptors depends on their physiology.
#3 you might experience low test symptoms like lethargy, irritability and depression.
#4 when u block receptors your body usually gets signals to produce more hormone, it might increase estrogen production in return as your body produces more test that is unavailable to bind and just aromatizes to estrogen…

Its a dumb plan.

Is it a sin to take narcotics to the point you loose self control then you have sex with a random woman?

If you arent in a rigt state of mind you can't make that decision

Stopped reading there. Yes.

right?! that biblical stuff is so out of date XD

smh

I was meaning to imply merely that the correct answer to OP's quandary is exceedingly simple, not that it's wrong by reason of that simplicity.

Even normal male bonding has been sexualized to the extent that one man hugging another is considered gay, implying a sexual undertone to what otherwise would be a completely platonic thing. "No homo" shouldn't even be a thing.

Now, when you make any kind of physical contact with another man, your brain has been conditioned to run the experience through your sexual circuit to verify whether or not you should consider it a sexual activity.

...

Are you the same guy that chopped off his balls and boasted about it on /r9k/?

I don't it solves the problem. If you face the temptation and resist it, you are no longer chained by it.

Even so, it's a great help to someone that has a crazy addiction, but even so, it's not supposed to be the pillar in which you live your life without sin.(In other words, the lack of the pill, shouldn't leave beast mode)

I am curious of something, if you block part of the effect of a hormone, won't the body just produce more to compensate?

What? Of course not. It's the only way. There's people who fap and go to hell and people who don't and go to heaven. It's the only way. It's not supposed to be easy, but saying that a teenager at his prime "can't" overcome fapping is just stupid. When I was a teenager I EVER fap. I'm not joking

damn typo

that's why it's easy for you. people who started their christian life after decades of faping, it isn't as white and black. It just like telling an really bad introvert, who hasn't talked to someone outside their family for decades, to go and talk to everyone in the class

Plus, who are you to judge who goes or doesn't? Didn't the thief next to jesus go to heaven?

Being slave to the sin is a ticket to death, but sinning isn't. We are sinners by nature, we do things we hate, instead of doing what is right. Don't dismiss these people just to fell good about yourself.

Thinking that fapping is acceptable at all as a christian is preposterous, it's ridiculous. Sin is never acceptable. You have to do nofap

When will this meme that testosterone causes hypersexuality end?

It is estrogen not testosterone that causes insatiable hypersexuality. If you want to reduce temptation take aromatase enzyme inhibitors like mushrooms and aspirin.

No, of course not.
Don't ruin your sex drive.

Lobotomize yourself because you're weak of will, then.

The "thief next to Jesus" actually repented.
You're just making excuses for your weak will.
