so there's 5 patriarchs, and one of them gets prideful and leaves. that's rome

That's a caricature of what actually happened, and you know that.
The western and eastern halves of Christendom were estranged beginning with the 9th century. The pornocracy then the Gregorian Reform further confirmed the estrangement, and led to Rome expressing the faith in a particular way that didn't really account for Eastern sensibilities. 1054 was a non-event, and the schism actually happened in 1204 with the sack of Constantinople, which wasn't Rome walking away from the rest, but a mutual break - which doesn't tell who actually carries the right faith now.

Stopped there. Protestanism is a categorization of different churches.

This is patently false.

95% of bishops can only trace their apostolic lineage back to cardinal rebiba (1570s era cardinal). No one knows who ordained rebiba himself, though, so the lineage of most of the church is a complete mystery before the 1500s.

rebiba was certainly a valid bishop, but lying about being able to actually trace the lineages all the way back to jesus is a bit much… it can't be traced that far from modern day.

It's incredible that Catholics can't seem to go five words without being intellectually dishonest. Every time a Catholic posts something or says something here it's always like this, from the first sentence on full of false witness.

How is it factually false that protestantism is divided into countless small churches though?

It's at best a half truth. It relies on shifting meanings of words like church or denomination seamlessly within sentences. We could even say Roman Catholicism is divided into countless small churches because there are many Roman Catholic parishes.
The number of organizations is irrelevant, because the kingdom of God is spiritual. All that matters would be the number of theological perspectives, and there are not many among those under the authority of scripture.

"I prefer that homosexuals come to confession, that they stay close to the Lord, and that we pray all together," says Francis. "You can advise them to pray, show goodwill, show them the way, and accompany them along it."

Dude, I'm from Europe, the US is not the centre of the world. Also, keep in mind that only ~30% of the registered Catholics in the US actually go to church weekly. Your statistics are kind of consistent with the amount of practicing Catholics.
