And exactly where does it say that salvation is dependent on doing? No where in the entire Bible. Yes, we should do good works, to honor and glory God and for a good life here on earth. But in order to go to Heaven, to be saved, all you ever have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Of course, if you're one of those people who believe in some bishop over the Word of God, this will go over your head.

Never ever take your eyes off Him, not even for a moment; lest the enemy grabs hold of that split of a moment and use it against you. God knows of what you are going through, and He is so compassionate about you, and His Mercy endures forever; and is from everlasting and everlasting to them that fear Him. The Psalmist says, [I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. Vs.2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made Heave earth]. He has not forgotten about you, however, you should know that there are seasons in our lives. It cannot be just Spring or Summer right through; “God forbid”, besides, we would stop seeking His Mercy and Righteousness which is in abundance upon our lives. We would think that we had it all, and thus not needing Him in our lives. At the right and appropriate time according to His Perfect timings, He will visit your situation and affliction for His Mighty Name to be glorified. “Peace, be still”, and prayerfully wait upon Him; your turn to rejoice in Him is coming”.

My brother, I don't mean to sound as if I am insensitive, however, I just want to say that there are seasons in our lives. Winter has longer nights and shorter daylights whilst summer is the converse thereof. So it is with our lives. In our various situations, the adverse/dark side would always seems longer than the brighter/promising side.
I personally identify with your predicament, as I would at times go through the same, as the enemy would invariable bombard and buffet me with financial crunch and physical afflictions trying his damndest to make me lose focus on the Lord. The momentary breather that he lets me have, I get up and give praise and worship to God, for I know that He is aware of what I am going through! But thanks be to the Holy Spirit, who would always give me strength despite what I am going through in particular season in my life. At that time, I would go into my prayer closet, and call to God who sees in the secret place, and the Holy Spirit would give me comfort, I would momentarily forget about my situation and afflictions. And I would just worship and praise my Heavenly Father. The following day my mind would not think at all about my predicament. And without any expectations in the course of the week, God would just show Himself strong in a way I had not been expecting.
One thing that God had blessed with, is a thankful heart and an appreciative spirit. I always thank Him even in very insignificant little things the other people may take for granted to acknowledge, because I would always believe that He had done those things. So I believe that is why He would always answer me positively. God loves a thanksgiving heart and an appreciative spirit. When the days are dark, that is when you have to seek Him more, and not be despondent and dejected. In many times, God would allow you to go through the valley of darkness in order to test your faith but surely He would not let you carry the burden you cannot manage. He would allow these on you for His Mighty Name to be glorified in the process. And remember the enemy (devil) on the other side would not let up, as he is incessantly bombarding you with deception, trying to make you lose faith in the power of God.
Now my prayer for both of us:
Father, I present my brother and I before Your Glorious Throne of Grace, about which Your inerrant Word says, "Let us come boldly to His Throne, where we shall find Mercy". We are now coming before Your Throne in boldness with the full knowledge of Your Power over our lives; but humbling ourselves, as the Word declares that "You lift the humble, and bring down the proud". Father Lord, everything is all laid bare and naked before Your eyes. And nothing is hidden from You. You can see even the very thoughts of our hearts, and in this wise, You are very much aware of all that we are going through. Father Lord God, in Jesus' Mighty Name look upon our situations, and heal every situation according to Your Perfect Will upon our lives! Your Word says expressly that "Your hand is nor shortened that it cannot save; neither Your ear heavy that it cannot hear, but our sins have separated between us and God. Father Lord, forgive us our sins, iniquities and transgressions in the Mighty of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Show Yourself strong as You always do in Jesus Mighty Name. You never fail, as nothing shall be impossible with You! For You are the same yesterday, today and forever Amen!!!

That Bible quote is from Acts btw (KJV). No verse in the entire Bible teaches that SALVATION (not getting God's blessing but simply salvation, not going to hell) is through anything but God's grace through faith alone.
