This part never made sense to me. It makes more sense when you consider it as a balance between order and chaos: with too much order you become essentially a machine, and with too much chaos nothing can work. But balancing good and evil is just dumb, no one wants have evil around. The closest I can think of would be that you take the risk of something bad happening because the alternative would be oppressive: you would rather live with the possibility that someone can snap and go on a killing spree than be forced to live under constant surveillance. But this is again about oppressiveness (too much order), not because you want someone to snap from time to time.

balance in the context of the jedi is the complete annihilation of all users of the darkside in the galaxy, but personal balance does exist in legends canon, the original je'dai and darth revan are about it for true-neutral force users who every actually did anything.

Yep it is. I used to love Card Captor Sakura when I was a serious weeb, but it just doesn't sit right with me since becoming a Christian. While the magic use could be ignored as just fantasy, what can't be ignored is its promotion of homosexuality. It's a shame because it's a well made anime and has some good messages, but it's mixed in with all that "love is love" crap.

What's worse in that show imo is the pedophile teacher and the fourth grader in a romantic relationship, even in the old censored version they leave some of this in. It's a shame there are some sinister themes mixed in with a lot of content that looks cute and wholesome on the surface. Won't be letting my daughters see this one, they can watch certain precure seasons I've prescreened instead if they ever become interested in anime.
