They are tbh. Just for posterity's sake, the split between the vanam and pf had nothing to do with Fields. There were disagreements between them already prior to cville, but it did break the camel's back. Vanguard was never anything serious, unfortunately. There was never an agreement on doctrine, on core values, and on strategy. It had no plan besides "idk, put up posters and eventually we win???"
It was a microcosm of what happened in the larger "alt-right," a split between revolutionaries and reactionaries, between "american" nationalists and national socialists. These fractures already existed, but they were exacerbated by the fighting in cville. Half of Vanam was with LoTS and TWP in the barricaded area where the fighting broke out and the other half was with IE and other alt-right types in the other half. Due to a breakdown in communication between the two areas, the AR half complied with the police order to evacuate while the NS groups were pushed into the reds by the cops. In the fog of war, it looked to the NS half like the other half was running away from the fight and abandoning them, and some of them were.
Afterwards there was a lot of infighting and Thomas and his followers split off/were kicked out (depending on who you ask). Both did some shitty things to each other. PF stole vanam's bank account, website, etc. And Vanam gave their honeypot logs to unicorn riot and got a lot of them doxxed. So it's not as cut and dry as the op made it sound. They're "sneaky nazis" but they are racialists.

The entire alt right is controlled opposition of the extreme type. Made to break up left wing conservatives, also made to create the "fascists" for the antifa to fight.
