I think it'll probably be good. I doubt you can manage to fuck it up because Koreans are clearly competent enough to build weapons but you don't have as much governmental inefficiencies as America does with their F-35, but I doubt it will be particularly revolutionary either. It'll probably perform just as well as most other gen5 stealth fighters.
I think the current NK "peace" won't last too long tbh. If you actually do start allying with them you're basically instantly in the Chinese sphere of influence, but it appears as if your current leadership has no problem with that. Wish gook/jap relations were better and you could go at it against the chinks together but that's unlikely.

Things are still complicated. Lucky for us the US invaded them right after so commies/nationalists propaganda focused on that and the french colonies in Indochina were largely based on the existing administrations and elite and the "colonization" process in itself was one of the weirdest.

Then the Cambodia king asked for Cambodia to become a french protectorate (against Siam which was their suzerain. Siam accepted in exchange of some strategic points in Cambodia).
Then China, profiting of the clusterfuck a rebel Chinese army invaded today North Vietnam (Tonkin).
France fought them, then Chinese regulars (casting doubt whether or not they were rebels in the first place) and sort of won (hurt China enough to have treaty).
The Nguyễn agreed to become a protectorate (Anam) while the initial gains under the pirate admiral (Cochinchina) and over China (Tonkin) became "colonies" (directly administered by France).
Then the not-chinese army invaded Laos, the French army gave pursuit hoping to gain Siam as a protectorate and managed a daring rescue of the Luang Prabang royal family which asked to become a protectorate. Upon which the British started to protest so the French and British, that were technically allied, agreed to leave Siam in between them as a buffer to avoid any complications.
So Indochina was this weird thing were you had three dynasties managing their largely original territory with some autonomy (Laos, Cambodia and Aman) and the small but economically important "lordless" territories (Tonkin, Cochinchina) that were directly under french administration.
While the degree of autonomy is questionable there is no doubt that those dynasties were completely loyal to France (as proven when the Japanese took over and they refused outright to renounce those protectorates despite being literally at gunpoint) and aside from the Nguyễn were not really coerced into it and joined France from their own accord (against local enemies).
Add the fact that whatever misrule and mistreatment the french did the US did a thousand fold when they dumped tons of bombs, napalm and toxic chemicals on them and things aren't too bad.
