What happened to the Puritans?

Attached: 19061185579_86bda234cf_o.jpg (800x575 891.72 KB, 89.31K)

They became the Independent Fundamental Baptists.

IFBs arent pro-abortion, pro-sodomy, pro-transgender, join services with pagans or are pro-socialist you filthy liar

There are still conservative Presbyterians around but they're far fewer than what the used to be

Methodists/Congregationalists (usually called the 'Uniting Church') are full of liberalism however

Mainline Protestantism is almost entirely pozzed

All the churches are compromised.

There's just a handful of us now in a endless sea of "feel good' Christians that have rendered the bible utterly meaningless. The Orthodox Church might be the least corrupt for now, but it's only a matter of time.

But we're among the few that's left of his light:

upon the sons of men
to see if any understand,
if any seek God.
All have turned away,
they have together become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one. – Psalm 53:2-3

We're "it" folks, this is all that's left. And what can we do? We're just a handful of losers on the corner of the internet, at most we can give the truth to individuals but the masses are doomed; they reject his message. I feel extremely sad saying this not to discourage people but to help people realize just how bad things really are. But at least it shows that Revelation is true, bit by bit it is coming true and I just hope we're not the ones to experience the tribulation.

what can we do? I also feel like most Churches are done

Make your own.

What you're really asking is why America fell so hard and so fast. The answer ryhmes with shoes.

…wait a minute…WAIT A MINUTE…Oy Vey!

This is the fate that awaits all non-Catholic ecclesial communities. Only the Catholic Church is under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. All those outside it are subject to the tricks of the devil.

Is this why mexico and brazil is such a beauty?

Is that why the Vatican allows and protects sodomites in it's clergy? The Holy Spirit demands it?

Mammon.

Hey, guys. Want some conjured up FIAT currency that everybody still uses and therefore is good enough to cheat up an actual worth with?
Low low price, too, only your future, your souls, your nations, your faiths.

That picture is just filled with weirdness. The thing is OP, when you do not have any sort of written down standards or doctrines then it's only a natural conclusion that it will degenerate since they can and will just make up new interpretations to fit their solipsism. Which is why you have a growing portion of Evangelicals who the doctrine of Hell should be written away.

That's right: Poos

Do not revel in the great falling away. Your protestant countries have fallen into secularization as well.

it's hard to imagine a good Christian and a free market usurer

SOLA SCRIPTURA IN ACTION

Divine simplicity leaves no way for God to interact with the faithful, which is why it creates atheists.
Why worship a set of rules? Only the aquatic kike could ever be so wicked.

He wasn't talking about secularisation, though…

His point was that Catholicism is not immune from corruption either, and thinking that it is is folly.

It's pretty ironic how the UCC is a direct descendant of the Puritans. Lol Protestantism.

Puritan society was rife with problems – problems they had from the very start. You have to remember, as very firm believers in predestination, they twisted out a sort of proto-prosperity gospel a generation or two into colonial life. Families with many children, wealth, and high status in society were seen to possess outward signs of God's grace. Members of these families were thought to have predestined salvation and almost ignored the gospel entirely, treating church like a social club. That was why the Great Awakening was so important.
Edwards' sermons scared the living hell out of many Puritan colonial families and convinced them to take their faith seriously. Unfortunately, this only seemed to worsen the Puritan tendency to see every flap of a butterfly's wings as a predestined sign that they were going to hell. Consider reading Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God – you get an idea of the wrathful, almost vindictive way they envisioned God. You can get a bit of a sense of it if you read Robinson Crusoe, which was written by the Puritan Daniel Defoe. He considers his endless suffering divinely appointed revenge for ignoring his father's wishes (breaking the 5th commandment) and becoming a sailor.
It wasn't a very healthy mindset for the Christian life and it slowly drove people into more liberal churches once they got a foothold in the states.

Not good advice. Starting your own church because you don't agree with established doctrine is essentially a free ticket to heresy and prelest.

calvinism did this

mencius moldbug the ultracalvinist hypothesis
hbd on northwest european psychometrics

shoo shoo christ-denying jew

If i would say "Lol papists" i would get banned

Moldbug does get pretty retarded a lot of the time (he literally calls the bugman-globohomo superstructure 'the cathedral', comparing possibly the greatest creation of European Christendom to globalist kike sodomy and devil worship is genuinely enraging), but even a broken clock is right twice a day, he's had genuine insights in his time (not familiar with this particular theory though).

Even a literal jew can find valid things to criticize about Mormons, Jehovahs, and other heretics, why not calvinists or puritans? Not bothering even with flawed or often stupid critics is asking to eventually be blindsided by your enemies, because you just didn't take time to really consider or respond to their objections, even if they're wrong.

It's something I myself am guilty of but it bears repeating, leftists and jews are often seizing upon a real problem that's ignored by (((main stream conservatives))), and they'll win if we don't address their criticism and think of a solution that's better than theirs (even if their solution is retarded and evil, if we don't have a plausible counter offer, we lose).

Why is free market considered usury? What do they even have to do with one another?

I love the free market and hate usury. Is that weird?

Begome Orthodox.

This was the reason why I converted to Orthodoxy.

It is the only of the Christian faiths to stand up to modernity, progress, time, change, decay, death, etc.

Puritans become gay loving universalists. Most Protestant and Baptist/Non-Denominational churches (my personal background) even 50 years ago at most, longer in rarer cases, have followed a similar trend of liberalization. I needed to find a place that did NOT change, and would still be the exact same thing for my descendants and progeny.

Catholics are going in an increasingly very liberal direction and have been for a while, while also being at the spearhead of the start of many of the problems we see today. Vatican I and Vatican II are both massive distortions. The start of these distortions was even earlier however.

Have mercy on me.

fruits of heresy

Keep your small flame lit, try to light those around you. Do what little you can with what little you have.

THIS. it eventually devolves to a relativist position which goes hand in hand with modernity. if something is (T)ruth, then it is always true and there is really no room for change. the danger, in a sense, is one of confirmation bias. with time and ego, one comes to the text with assertions they want to prove and then reverse engineer/"back into" validations of those assertions.

as an ancillary matter, it gives preeminence to the text when the text actually post dates the beliefs of the church and the liturgy. the liturgy & with it the traditions are older than the codified texts itself and the interpretation of the text was always meant to be in the hands of the apostolic church. you kinda see this problem writ large with creation museums and people bending over backwards to explain that the earth is 5000 years old, etc.
