The United States was to begin construction in Texas on Saturday of part of President Donald Trump's border wall designed to curb illegal immigration, which he calls a security threat.
Running along four miles (six kilometers) of the 2,000-mile border with Mexico, the new section will replace existing fencing along the boundary between El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, US Customs and Border Protection said in a statement.
"This new wall will be far more durable and far more effective in deterring would-be illegal entrants," Aaron Hull, Chief Patrol Agent in the El Paso sector, said in the statement.
It said the existing fencing will be replaced by an 18-foot (5.4 meter) steel post barrier which allows Border Patrol agents to see through to the other side.
The $22-million project is to be completed in about seven months.
In April, the Border Patrol announced the start of construction of a 20-mile stretch of wall to replace an existing barrier in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
Much of the border already has fencing or other barriers, but Trump has ordered a "contiguous, and impassable physical barrier," which scientists say would threaten more than 1,000 species of animals.
Congress has so far approved $1.6 billion of $25 billion Trump had sought for his wall.
Rats and coyotes, but no one wants those around either!
Kevin Gray
Off course, biological adaptability would never be taken into account. All change hurts. Bring it on!
Nicholas Smith
*of course
Brandon Foster
Legal immigration is not so much the problem, its the ones who flood over here unvetted and who start stealing jobs away or sponging off the tax-funded welfare system. If they go through all the hassle to become a citizen I really could care less, but they should be mandated to learn English.
Daniel Lee
$22 million to build a 4 mile section that will take 7 months…..
and this is NOT part of 'trumps wall'
…..this is a tiny section of existing wall….
this replacement section has been scheduled to be constructed for almost 6 years….. Obama was in office when they completed the invoice on this contract….
nice try
but you're a liar
Camden Carter
at $5.5 million per mile, it will cost $10,978,000,000.00 and take over 40 years to complete the remaining 1996 miles
William Fisher
HINT :Trump never intended on building any wall, he hasn't moved forward with his empty campaign slogan, and he never will
if you were stupid enough to believe there was going to be a 'wall' built, then you're gullible as shit
Luke Robinson
NEWS FLASH: immigration is the LEAST of our problems……………
our real problems are internal, and they have absolutely nothing to do with the undocumented immigrants………………
I thought you guys were supposed to be 'smart'
Matthew Roberts
American Your illegal aliens are aloud to work on farms. Your leader gave billions to the farmers. Do you think your illegal aliens are lawyers, doctors or someone in a high paying job ? And also stop paying isis through your treasury department. There still buying oil from isis. Stupid Americans Stay out of Europe
Lucas Hughes
Its up to Congress to provide funding for the wall and so far the cuckservatives have showed their true colors by not offering much at all. Trump should block all future budgets over this, but whatever he does is up to him and its up to his supporters whether they still trust him.
Robert Carter
We should stay the hell out of the Middle East too. What a fucking disaster we caused over there.
Sebastian Lopez
They both have dark skin so they're pretty much the same
Jaxson Reed
Civnat is the correct position. Deal with it.
Grayson Jones
RE: Congress Providing Funding
…says the guy who voted for Trump thinking he was a badass when he said he'd make Mexico pay for it…….
right?…
a 'wall' he never intended on building
a bizarre, unrealistic campaign promise designed to appeal to angry confused fools who were SO gullible, that they we're easily fooled into thinking that immigration was our problem……….
and now, suddenly you're saying the problem is Congress, and that the U.S. TAXPAYERS are the ones at fault ?
wow……… you Trump supporters are like Christians… you'll say anything
Jacob Johnson
Wrong. CNN your lord and master even did the math, it would take 4.
David Ross
Israel can build a great big beautiful wall but we can't? Pathetic!
Zachary Morales
what if the mexicans fly over the wall with the planes
Jaxon Mitchell
They'd have air control to deal with. Don't even think there's no massive police state up there too, there is.
Carter Nguyen
nope…. it's going to take 7 months to complete only 4 miles
it'll take over 40 years to complete the remaining 1996 miles
Ryan Hernandez
A G A I N :
this has nothing to do with trump
they've been planning on replacing this tiny section for almost 6 years
Charles Ortiz
They're currently working on some of the newest wall in CA actually, this in TX is just a much better replacement but still necessary. Remember the immigrant a few weeks ago who attempted to jump the new wall in CA? He broke both his legs trying that.
Levi Bennett
'newest' wall
but NOT 'Trump's Wall'
because that project hasn't begun
and it's highly unlikely that it ever will at this point
Ryder Williams
too bad they can't build a wall between the powers that be and all the resources they're swindling and squandering
because we have been in a downward spiral for decades and decades, and our problems have nothing to do with M E X I C A N S
Brayden Moore
Call it whatever you like, a wall is a wall. And we need one too, kike.
Leo Bailey
lol sure 'we' do, Sally……
Nicholas Smith
the punchline:
you bitter, disenfranchised, resentful guys needed to blame 'something'………..
Trump appealed to the lowest denominator…
and you fell for it !!! hahahahaha!!! W O W
the fact of the matter is: no me I can has EVER effected your lives, negatively or positively
undocumented or otherwise
no Mexicans have ever caused you ANY fucking problems, or helped you
it's a non issue
because you live your solitary lives attached to your umbilical computers
Ian Peterson
ooops good damn autocorrect typos
I said:
no MEXICAN* has EVER effected your
lives, negatively or positively
undocumented or otherwise
Kevin Gomez
Mexicans had nothing to do with the waste and sloth and corruption that we have allowed to continue right here in our backyard for decades
Justin Moore
Actually, as someone who voted for Trump, the reason you assholes piss me off so much to vote for someone like him is because you are the ones trying to censor us off platforms, disarm us and sell off our country to foreign enemies. So you and the DNC and the media can take a flying leap off a fucking cliff. You people made us your enemies.
Brandon Wright
you're all spoiled and selfish unwilling to make the sacrifices necessary to fix things
it would mean you'd have to spend less time watching sissy anime and playing video games………………
so you let a double digit IQ caveman convince you that Mexicans got us into this mess
Jace Watson
sounds good…..
if only you realized that I'm NOT a Democrat…………………………..
Daniel Turner
Who does that? Zig Forums maybe, not the average American.
Tyler Morris
You sure act like one sometimes. Ever notice your own political bias?
Julian Hughes
I'm not Democrat I'm not Republican I'm not Libertarian
I'm none of those things…..
I'm a REALIST and the reality of the matter is: WE are the problem, not Mexicans
Eli Garcia
see, you and I have a lot in common
the last time I voted was for PEROT and Ross Perot was the REAL Trump
You and I both have the same desires regarding the system………………………
unfortunately, Trump is no Perot
Brayden Ross
Mexicans don't have de-facto citizenship to the US, even if they did, they're not going to help any of our problems… just look what kind of hellhole country they live in. It makes ours look preferable.
Jose Rogers
Trump is like a sideshow version of Perot
he's like a cheap WWE Holiday Inn Lounge imitation of Perot…………..
Jeremiah Kelly
He's no Ross Perot but he's the only viable option we have so far. Notice that little issue?
Aaron Perry
agreed….. nobody claimed they're going to 'help'….. that's not the issue
I'll tell you who ELSE isn't going to 'help'….
US
the problems with our country are internal, and they've been bubbling up to the surface since WWII ended
Brody Martin
well, that explains why I refused to vote
because I'm not going to vote for a stupid fucking caveman
Liam White
I myself desired to see someone like Lyndon LaRouche get elected but he didn't stand a chance running against the rigged system which framed him.
Julian Sanchez
here's the part I rarely mention:
if Trump was doing great things, actually changing things, fixing our problems, I'D BE A HUGE SUPPORTER
but he's not
so I'm not
Jordan Fisher
I rather have the caveman as a leader than a brilliant child-sacrificing satanist who wants to destroy our entire country and subjugate us any day.
Lucas Morales
Even if he's not successful, he isn't terrible. That's the thing. You can't say that with many previous presidents.
Lincoln Stewart
oh my God PUHHH-LEEEASE
hint: pizzagate is flat-earth tier
snap out of it, man!!
that's a matter of opinion
Parker Long
Nope, I have no doubt whatsoever the elites are into satanic cults. Do your own research on that one. Very odd but its been going on for centuries. The elites like to drink fresh young blood. They believe they can live longer doing so.
Gabriel Gomez
Got omething about Trump you're trying to hide?
Luke King
yeah, well see….. ME ?…..
I only claim to 'know' what I actually KNOW…. what I've personally experienced or seen
I guess that's what separates you and I, huh?
Colton Sanders
how convenient that your longtime strongly held belief happens to coincide with the recent trendy imageboard loser conspiracy pizzagate faggot thing, huh?…
that must have been a pleasant surprise for you, when the recent wave of lunatic conspiratorial bulshit Zig Forums and 4chan 'pizzagate' elite baby blood drinking secret society BULLSHIT suddenly popped up…..
Michael Jones
coincidental that their delusional, fabricated, exaggerated, idiotic, far fetched, trend following, unoriginal, delusional, predictable lemming 'conspiracy' nonsense had the exact same elements as your belief…..
we could save A LOT of money by building a much smaller wall around these 'elitist' vampires
and all of our problems would be solved
Cameron Perez
here's MY opinion:
FOREIGNERS……..
Foreigners could be the answer
because if you wanted to know what our biggest problems are, you should ask people from other countries……
their perspective is important because they envy us they admire us but they see things we miss like the wastefulness the infighting the greed the laziness the self entitlement how we are bullies how we've taken our magic opportunities and flushed them down the drain by taking things for granted by allowing things to get this bad
I think their perspective has added value………..
because we are on the inside looking out
Leo Parker
and I can guarantee you that NONE of them would say that the problem with America …….is that we don't have a wall
Thomas Powell
Thats a great idea and in some ways the internet has made this possible for us, we can literally bypass elitist propaganda, we have alternative sources of information now.
As for foreigners if they legally want to come here, the should be vetted. Not coming here unwanted and unchecked. And they should be forced to respect our culture and obey our laws. I say they should even be mandated to speak English so they can communicate with other Americans. Immigration is not bad… unchecked amnesty/open borders is and that can easily lead to destabilization (look at Europe right now, a mess).
Jeremiah Phillips
see?
you and I agree
Caleb Martinez
So, he wanted to enable Hillary's victory via her pandering to the cities? Fuck Perot. Neither he nor your faggot ass is smarter than the philosophers who built the fucking Electoral College for a very specific reason.
Parker Torres
lol the electoral college was developed specifically to guarantee that the U.S. Citizens would never be able to have a fair and honest e l e c t i o n
William Anderson
There's already a wall around Israel.
Liam Kelly
there's more than one 'tiny' difference between Perot and Trump
for example, Perot was a war hero he didn't malinger his way out of duty, and in fact, Perot saved the lives of dozens of troops, all by himself
and unlike the caveman Perot is modest as shit never asking for praise
then there's the fact that unlike Trump, Perot actually IS a billionaire…………….
Trump doesn't have a billion far from it……. hence no tax records
and Perot didn't inherit a fucking thing he EARNED it… because he's a real businessman, unlike the caveman
Perot came back from the war, and asked his father in law for a $10,000 loan
he turned that $10,000 into BILLIONS
Trump is a fucking idiot
Jason Ward
just so you can say that you learned something, research Perot's job at IBM, and how he suggested to the CEO that everybody should have a 'personal computer's, and the CEO scoffed, so Perot quit…..
or research how he rescued all of his employees out of the embassy in Iran during the Iranian hostage crisis that lasted 444 days
he actually went into the embassy himself, along with his handpicked team of ex-special forces soldiers (and he paid for it himself)
he's an actual, real life, honest to gosh 'American Hero', and because the system is rigged, and you can never win against the powers that be, he wasn't elected….
and I'll never vote again
Colton Wright
the way they 'assassinated' Perot was by brainwashing the masses with the media (all news has ALWAYS been fake) into believing that Perot was 'crazy'
it worked…. people are sheeple…. idiots…. gullible fools…. dumb as shit
oddly, Hillary IS crazy she's EVIL… maniacal
and the electoral college put an IDIOT in office… he's not smart enough to be insane
Kevin Walker
GOOD!
Ryder Hernandez
Formatting your posts like a fag doesn't make your lies truth.
Friend;y reminder for lurkers: Ross Perot "supported gun rights" but also supported the ban on "assault weapons".
Jace Taylor
pfffff this is stupid
Jaxon Garcia
you know what else is stupid? spending 20 billion on a wall that will be crossed anyway. thats fucking stupid.
Jacob Peterson
is he wrong? does the budget for the wall not have to go through congress? oh he isnt? thats a shame, its like facts trumps your emotional rant.
hes been keeping his campaign promises… literally to a hair
Noah Wood
basde blumpf, MIGA
Nicholas Cook
Lol go back to r/thedonald kike
Jordan Gomez
I love your meticulously crafted grammar and le reddit spaced paragraphs. Good job!
Ryder Torres
They probably do if the come in legally. Can't imagine it's easy to get in if you fill out the forms in fucking spanish.
Noah Thomas
god i hope they don't invent rope or tunnels. that would make a wall look pretty silly
Charles Cox
muh hard work american fruit pickers
Robert Cooper
*fence
Matthew Gomez
Its not there to prevent immigration fuck wit Its there to intimidate and to fuck with who ever wants an open border
Justin Barnes
We're not even 2 years in, we can't judge that until we see if he starts an Iran war
Cooper Morris

You ramble on about the internal problems of the United States but firstly, fail to clarify what they are and secondly, if you do know what they are (of which I am doubtful) You have no idea the reasons behind them and understand them on a base level. You have the consideration of future consequences synonymous with that of a Reagan Era boomer. Meaning that you don’t think things through beyond the immediate effects of the present. If a policy’s consequences are not established within the first 5 years of its implementation you believe that such consequences simply do not exist. You are plagued with a notion that the world is short lived and historical circumstances have no effect on the current state of affairs now, despite almost every single problem this country faces has to do with a historical circumstance.
For the sake of not making this too long, lets focus on your statements regarding the flooding of this country with illegal immigrants being a non issue. This is entirely false for a variety of reasons. 1. The influx of latin immigrants threatens the balance of political power within the United States and at least will result in the domination of the democratic party and at most will lead to a democratic dictatorship. Immigrants themselves might not be a problem, they don’t vote, because they can’t. Their sons and daughters can, though. The democrats seek to exploit the articles written by our founding fathers that state that anyone born on US soil is therefor granted citizenship to the United States. Thus, they are afforded rights to vote. The democrats know that these second generation immigrants, if they act in a manner that shows alliance to them, will allow them to retain positions within government. Without any threat to power, democratic ideologies will flourish, shifting the political scales left, making extremists of of the center-right and centrists of moderate and extreme democrats. It will lead to the shaming of conservatives into silence, and a welcoming environment to leftist extremism. You can observe it now even with Republicans still in power, it is no coincidence that Cortez has become the face of socialism in America. I cannot tell you the exact consequences of a socialist america, but I can hazard a guess that the suppression of people and their roghts will be commonplace. Secondly, the American welfare system is already struggling, and when these second generation sons and daughters of immigrants, need I remind of which there will be many, will be the straw that breaks the camels back. These people come here in poverty, and despite what people are told of economic benefit these men and women will bring, over 100 years of African American freedom show that these Mexican immigrants will remain impoverished, and will bring their sons and daughters into a world of poverty for many generations. This nation CANT HANDLE THESE PEOPLES CHILDREN. IT WILL RESULT IN DISASTER. Crime will sharply increase, healthcare will disintegrate, entire cities will fall into chaos, and the american government will have NO response for this. California is a testament to failure, directly correlated to the amount of illegal immigrants they have brought in to console.
Simply put, you think shit is bad now? With our country already stagnating and our competitors quickly catching up with us? Watch what happens when a generational boom of poor, disenfranchised children of these illegal immigrants comes. We are unwittingly charging towards a poverty stricken socialist state. Atrocity waits over the hill, and your stupidity that also runs rampant in so many of your peers will lead to a roman-esque collapse.

true news
Jason Hill
This is a very very good reason to stage an EXIT from the system, institutions and move to a more rural area outside the cities. And to become self-sufficient and slowly start adapting to living "off-grid" which I'm somewhat prepared for (at least in terms of my solar panels and wood burning stove for winter).
Aaron Mitchell
Never give up the guns. Never never never never. If they come for them, you might as well go out in a fight to the death and give 'em hell. This is the ONLY thing that stands in their way of total subjugation of the US population!
