what do

How can you hate reading the Bible? It's got everything. Read some psalms, or exodus, or wisdom of solomon, or the gospels, or revelation.

Belief on Christ is what saves, not works such as attending Church. Should Christians go to Church? Yes, of course. The false doctrines on this board is alarming.

Learn about the theology of the Mass and Bible maybe they will become more interesting.

Read The Bible and the Liturgy by Jean DaniƩlou.

AND YOU KNOW IT!

All God is asking is that you come to his house 1 time a week and praise his name with the other faithful.

...

No but the Apostles did unless your some kind of heretic who thinks they shouldn't listen to what the Apostles agreed was the proper way to worship.

< No but the Apostles did

...

I am not claiming I am telling you that is exactly what they said. Jesus told you to. Are you saying Jesus or the Apostles did not keep the Sabbath Holy and go to temple? Are you saying the Apostles keeping with their tradition did not teach their followers to gather at a temple of the Lord to Worship him on the holiest day of the new covenant?

What if I can't go to church due to working early Sunday mornings?

Eternal damnation?

I think if you can, you should further in your journey and try to get Sunday morning off or change job altogether if possible, or find another way if not possible and then make it possible. God before the world.

Yes, because God is crazy and illogical and hates you. No, that's SATAN, user.

Unfortunately that won't be possible for a while

Are there like evening services or something I can attend? Haven't been to Church in years.

Is going to Church absolutely necessary though? I pray every day and try to read the bible as much as I can. Is going to a building on a particular day so important?

The Lord will not ask the impossible of you. I am in your boat as well I need to work on Sunday to support my household and am not at luxury to ask for it off or find a new job. If that is the case first consider looking for a Church near you that has a late mass you can attend. If that is not an option then attend a service during a day you do have off if that is not an option only then are you absolved of the responsibility.

All God is asking from you is a sacrifice of your time to gather with the faithful and celebrate his name. If you are Cathodox then IT IS NECESSARY to attend Church and if that is not possible you still must have the Eucharist in a state of grace once a month.

The Apostle Paul advocated joining a community to help each other. Big warning Brother, 60-70% of Churches are fallen today. Heed my warning in strong language - stay the f*** away from them.

Unless you are a Catholic, in 2018 you are really under no obligation given the rampant heresy smashing through Christendom at the moment.

If you find a stable Church - go. But that might be very difficult if not impossible in your area, especially if you're a newbie and still discerning. Caution. Exercise caution.

This on so many degrees. I actually got lucky and found out my town has a very traditionalist priest.

This, I'm worried about being fooled by doctrines before I've been able to read the whole bible myself. I'd rather go in wearing my full suit of armor than just a chest piece.

You can confess to God right now, brother/sister. Nothing is holding you back.

First of all, communion with fellow believers is important and shouldn't be neglected, but it's simply not true that Jesus or the apostles commanded us to get together once a week on a specific day.

Second, we are saved by grace through faith, not by works, nor by any law or tradition. We are not in bondage to the sabbath.

A good church will improve your walk with God, a bad church will hinder your walk with God, but not going to church doesn't mean you won't have a walk at all. The best advise I can give you is to let God be your guide (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Go read the Apostolic Fathers and get back to me on that one.

No thanks. The Bible contains everything we need to know. If it was necessary for us to keep the sabbath, it would have been written in the NT.

Legalism is a dangerous thing. I advise you to meditate on the following verses:

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
- Galatians 2:21

For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
- Romans 4:14
