Anybody else want to do a quotes with picture thread?
Can we include bible verses like pic related? Or should that be in another thread?
funny thing is, he converted to catholicism at the end of his life.
Does it really matter? It’s not like I’ll be able to delete content i dont like.
Apply to be a mod.
I just didn't want to be off-topic was all.
What's the deal with this guy?
I'm assuming that quote is fake, but I can't be sure in this day and age.
Pretty sure it's ironic.

in case you haven't read about Houellebecq or don't know him…he desperately wishes he could believe in Catholicism and that Europe would return it…he basically hates that women have the vote and work outside the home…he respects Islam for this reason
Just like princess Diana, both were used as an example.
It's strange, because there is certainly a peace that comes to you when you find God, yet it's also it's also a realization of a lot of tragedies.
Diana was a whore sleeping with Muslim men. it's hilarious how Anglicans actually believe that the head of their church should be a monarchy. even though the Vatican has and probably is corrupt at times, at least in theory it isn't based on something as stupid as bloodline. I hope in the future Megan markle will be the head of the CoE. also a trans lesbian Archbishop of Canterbury.
Anglicans are dying in exponential rates though there'll be no church left.
The Catholic Church promoted the Divine Right of Kings through bloodline for centuries in Europe. I guess it wasn't wrong then.
Actually, it was Divine Right of Kings as a whole. Bloodline, election, conquest - if it was rightful it was good.
It did, and it was right to do so.
This did not mean that they then had the right to schism when they felt like it, as the eternal Anglo and Teuton relentless attempted.
Infallibility means whatever we say now is true and whatever contradictory thing we used to say is no longer applicable.
I know right, *changes stance to allow abortion* those dumb Catholics *changes stance to allow gay marriage* don't even know *changes stance to allow female pastors* what they are talking about *endorses interfaith dialogue* anymore.
Why don't *water isn't necessary for baptism* they follow *St Paul was a misogynist* the inerrant Word of God *Jesus was a progressive* like we do?
None of that applies to the church I attend or probably any other church any protestant here attends.
There are anglicans here m8
winnie the pooh whore. Even worse than the mutt her son married.
So canonised when in the Anglican "Church"?
Implying it was wrong at all. Once the Pope approves they are the rightful monarch of the said country.
Expect brita since there's no legitimate king since James II.
It's not even that good of a quote..
I didn't think I would find a quote here that I'd disagree so much with.. especially from C.S. Lewis.
A life without God is meaningless. Therefore, there's nothing that can make one as happy as having a relationship with God. Sure a christian life (on Earth) is a life of tribulation, but that pales in comparison to the meaning a christian life has.
And is there anything more comfortable than knowing that righteousness will always prevail and that the one true God loves you and considers you to be His child? I think not.
I think you're missing the point. He's saying that Christianity requires you to earnestly try to stop sinning and that it is hard to do so.
This is deep, but also fills me with pride, which is not so good, but feels nice.
Not this heretic. Blah.
Christianity requires us to be perfect, like our heavenly father.
"Be perfect"
not "Try to get good"
You completely ignored the substance of what I said and agreed with me.
