Bronies — a portmanteau of “bro” and “ponies” that refers to the mostly male adult fans of American toy company Hasbro’s latest reincarnation of My Little Pony — emerged as a strange phenomenon in the first years after the show began. What started as a largely online community quickly broke through into the real world as fans organized conventions and began making and selling artwork and toys based on the show. The largest brony convention, BronyCon, exploded from just 100 guests in June 2011 to more than 10,000 in Baltimore in the summer of 2015.

same, when (((Hasbro))) killed off the OG creative staff the show become a parody of its self. sometimes I see nice fan art floating around that reminds me of the fun threads from season 1 and the crazy drama it caused on half-chan. from what I've heard the show has one more season before it gets a major reboot and a new creative staff turns it into "small horses want you to impeach trump" the series.

meh, fist season had some neat ideas but the world and character back-stories were very vague. and I think that was part of what made the show appealing (along with the voice acting). it seemed (at first) that this children's show had a deeper mysterious (and darker) aspect that older fans kept theorizing about. I think Bronies or just older fans of mlp got caught up in a show they mostly made up in their heads (sort of like "lost") once the creative staff was switched out and the original vision of the show killed off, the only thing left was the content fans had been making on their own. not too soon after that Hasbro stared a campaign to take down the most popular fan works. this also coincided with an attempted sjw take over to kill the more "edgy" part of the fandom and turn it into another tumblr trans-homo safe space, (basically steven universe or undertale). for older user fans the show is a death march that they find (some) comfort in making fun of and reminiscing till it finally ends.

Remember that the show only declined when they kicked out Faust and brought in guest writers. Even then the anti-egalitarian message continued on until SJWs, as they are wont to do, started corrupting it.
Poners have long since transcended the mediocre quality of the actual series. The pozzed crap the current writers are injecting into it is irrelevant, in fact it's probably best that the series is going to end soon due to how little its creative staff cares about it. Even Faust's contribution is overrated; it mostly consisted of providing the basic characters, world and mythos. The majority of Pony lore is fan-created. MLP is basically a huge collective headcanon created by a deranged hivemind, just like everything else that 4chan has given birth to. And just like everything else 4chan has given birth to, it will grow, mutate, adapt, and even transform itself completely into something that has nothing to do with its original form and purpose; whatever happens, though, it's not going anywhere.

I think a major part of the decline is 4chan mods having a near-global ban on pony images, you can't even post a smug reaction image without getting b@ for half a week. Quite ironic, considering that 4chan played a major part in helping it become popular in the first place. Yet another entry to list in the great big book of "Reasons to hate the 4chan mods".

I know extremely little about the show as I've never watched it, but I DO know there was a little shota dragon always hanging around with the ponies (and half the porn has him involved in some way).
