Following a litany reports teased an imminent announcement, only to be denied by his staff, Bernie Sanders has finally officially thrown his hat into the ring, officially acknowledging his plan to seek the 2020 Democratic nomination during an interview Tuesday with Vermont Public Radio.
Unlike his last sparsely-attended campaign announcement in 2015, which attracted a few idle jokes from the Daily Show's John Stewart about Sanders' resemblance to Seinfeld co-creator Larry David… Sanders enters the 2020 race as one of the front-runners, placing near the top of most polls along side Vice President Joe Biden. Though he has refused to refused to officially join the Democratic Party, many of the positions that he has advocated - including Medicare for All and a $15 minimum wage - have been endorsed by many of his campaign rivals.
Though Sanders has seen his profile rise from relative unknown to one of the leading lights of the party's revitalized "socialist" faction over the past few years, he delivered his announcement during an interview to a local public radio station in Vermont.
"I wanted to let the people of the state of Vermont know about this first," Sanders told VPR's Bob Kinzel. "And what I promise to do is, as I go around the country, is to take the values that all of us in Vermont are proud of — a belief in justice, in community, in grassroots politics, in town meetings — that's what I'm going to carry all over this country."
Sanders said he's running because he opposes Donald Trump, whom he called "an embarrassment", a "homophobe" and a "racist."
"I think the current occupant of the White House is an embarrassment to our country," Sanders said. "I think he is a pathological liar… I also think he is a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, somebody who is gaining cheap political points by trying to pick on minorities, often undocumented immigrants."
after he told his base to vote for hillary? after norefunds? after hillary alienated millenials? after hillary alienated commies? the DNC is a mess. and they've been shown up and to add insult to injury, theyve been beaten by donald fucking trump.

And the way they're going he will beat them a second time.

I think so. Honestly I'm not even on the whole "Trump train" because Donald has disappointed me too many times. He just caves too much, and its because he has a large ago…. that said, AOC is the reason I think he'll win again. Even when leftists from universities heard about her "green" agenda they cringed. Some literally said "thats not even possible." When people hear leftists want to ban meat consumption and all use of fossil fuels (which helps run our whole freakin' economy!) they will reject the lunacy of these leftists….. because they know if they go along with this, they end up losing their livelihoods and their lifestyles. Number one thing about politics: you have to at least pretend you give a damn about the economy!

thats a given. i dont even think DNC will win 2024 nomatter the candidates. the DNC is a big dumpster fire. they have no popular candiates and alienated the extreme left which has been their base.
Trump will be seen as the turning point. hes a normalfag boomer but he destroyed the dnc. republicans will continue to be democratically overturned to a right wing party. while DNC is too corrupt for that to ever happen, a new left wing party will likely take them over.
dont forget the most important thing about trump getting elected. people voted for what trump represented, not what hes actually doing. he is proof that right wing political momentum exists, and it can exist within a currently active political party.. whoever comes after trump will likely have to "top" him in order to win.
i will be curious about the next RNC pic. especially as more boomers die out.

Well I'll say this, "nice trips" and I voted for him solely because I hated that greedy ugly communist pig-in-lipstick named Hillary. I actually was a bit excited thinking he would get out of Syria, have a wall built, fully repeal Obamacare, etc. He ended up doing nothing but making the mainstream media and DNC look like flaming idiots and triggering snowflakes. I guess thats what I should have expected with politics though. He's not a bad president, but he's not really that great either.

Nice split vote.

this is all i ever expected of him, and he delivered before he was even elected. i think the RNC will continuously shift towards a right wing party. i think the DNC will stay corrupt and exclusionary, and i think the voters will fracture and the left wing will become a new party, while the dnc rots away as boomers die.
