A Christian man who refuses to pay his taxes until the government stops funding abortion has won an historic lawsuit against the IRS.
Michael Bowman has refused to file a tax return or pay taxes since 1999. “I’m not a tax protester. I love my country,” he told reporters. “I have a duty to my country. I have a duty to my conscience.”
The IRS has sent him numerous warnings over unpaid taxes from 2002 to 2014, and in 2012 the Oregon Department of Revenue began garnishing money from Bowman’s bank account. In response, he started cashing out his paychecks and leaving only a minimum balance in his account.
This, federal prosecutors say, constituted “remov[ing] his income from the reach of taxing authorities.” They indicted him for felony tax evasion in the amount of $356,857, as well as four misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file tax returns.
Bowman’s attorney, Matthew Schindler, argued that his client was fully transparent every step of the way, from disclosing all of his paychecks to cashing them at his own bank, under his own name.
“Like a player collapsing as they lose Twister, the government has reached too far forward and stretched way too far back,” his motion to dismiss read.
Last week, US District Judge Michael Mosman sided with Bowman on the felony charge, ruling that the feds failed to show he attempted to conceal income or deceive the government. Prosecutors remain free to re-introduce the charge in the future, and are currently weighing whether to do so.
Pretty much what I do, except I don't work anymore I'm retired. Most of my money is now OUTSIDE the baking system. Yes, I have hired some professionals to help me secure my savings into legal alternatives outside the boundaries of the current system. You can look into companies like Nobel Gold or Goldcore. But there are others too that can secure your savings outside the system. Best to use multiple ones to diversify, its safer that way.
ALSO, owning some property and stocking up on basic essentials is another smart thing to do too, keep that wealth outside the system by all means (and do have entry-point fortification and some guns as a means to protect what you own).
Sure I pay my taxes. I don't mind that too much. But, the hell if I'll ever allow anyone to loot what I do have or my entire savings. That ain't happening and I made sure of it.
Andrew Jackson
He still pays more tax than Amazon.
Connor Rogers
how about walmart? I am loving this amazon push back. how about you shills talk about other corps? no, just amazon? who is paying you?
Thomas Johnson
You aren't legally required to pay income tax. You're only legally required to inform the government of your income as that isn't taxation.
Michael Ortiz
It's probably not shills. It's probably just a "cultural wave" against Amazon. There was one like 8 years ago against Walmart too which I clearly remember.
Brayden Carter
The head of Walmart (whoever that is) is not the world's richest man and ex-husband of the world's newest richest woman. Plus he probably isn't a lazy eyed psycho like Bezos.
Blake Lewis
Amazon is a bigger evil than Walmart, although I do my best to stay away from supporting Walmart too. Support ma & pa whenever you can, if you cannot, support something that is a lesser evil.
Lincoln Cook
Come back walmart all is forgiven.
Luke Hill
I only support my local grocery store, strippers, and drug dealers(also my grocery store).
Gabriel Perez
If you want Walmart to stay open, then you have to shop there and support them. Same thing with anything else. I'd recommend supporting retail over online shopping, but there are some shops I'd support over Walmart like Dollar General, Target, Dollar Tree, Good Will (for clothing) and COSTCO or Sams Club (for bulk food shopping).
When I can I'll support small local shops too depending what I need and can find.
Carson Anderson
This includes my local farmers market we have which the ranchers will sell their meats, and one guy I know hooks me up with bulk quality beef and chicken without hormones or nitrites, purchasing half a cow can last you two years or more if rationed and typically costs a grand (which is a fucking steal compared to buying the shit they sell at grocery stores which rip you off per pound). You need an extra freezer box to store it all though because thats A LOT of meat.
Jayden Bailey
You people will just say anything in an attempt to sound smart.
Dominic Perez
Don't support stippers, its a waste of money. If you want to score, buy a little blow and hire an escort. They'll be riding your cock for more lines.
Caleb Brown
Well I know its owned by the same company, but I did mention COSTCO too. Sometimes you have to pic whats most convenient for you, all depending where you live.
Gavin Taylor
Dollar General and Sam's Club are owned by Walmart.
Chase Howard
Businesses pay taxes all year long every quarter and the goyum filing date is when they pay the difference or receive a refund for being more or less profitable than the government made them guesstimate for the tax year. Do not be fooled by retards who do not understand that taxes for a corp, individual or even self employed are completely different. Self employed get fucked over more than any individual, pay all year like a corp and pay an extra 15% for being self employed.
Samuel Martin
OK, Sams Club I knew, did not know Dollar General was owned by Walmart. Maybe best to go to Dollar Tree or Family Dollar then. Or try more localized chains.
Sometimes I'll even check out local flee markets and yard sales, never know what you can find at those but its fun checking them out and supporting those too. I don't mind buying used utilities as long as they still work and can be maintained.
Bentley Baker
Good!
Now he has more control over his own body!
Adam Peterson
Have you declared the profits from the increase in gold prices?
I wouldn't say that, he has more representation now, the ability to hold the corrupt government accountable for what he honestly perceives as wrongdoing by the government and that is a Good! thing. People morally opposed to something like abortion should not have to pay for such programs. Personally I think abortion should rely on donations or fees, not taxpayer money.
Gabriel Rogers
Seriously. Standing up to the IRS in such a public way is brave, whether you agree with him or not (and you should).
Henry Turner
The (((professionals))) I hired take care of ALL that legal mumbo jumbo for me. Their job is twofold: 1) protect client's savings and 2) keep clients away from prison. And yes (((they))) do a good job at it.
Julian King
Also what I like, is if there is ANY change to regulations or laws, they keep you up-to-date, and will work within the law to protect you and your savings. Of-course you pay them some sheckles to do this, but thats what their businesses are for, lucrative security for all parties and to keep the government off everyones' backs. I'd say its a good investment if you desire to protect your savings.
Nolan Clark
Pay your taxes goyim. Israel needs those billions of US shekels each year.
Elijah Walker
I want to stop paying taxes too until the government stop funding single mothers. I don't want to pay for chad and tyrone's kids.
Carson Rogers
Straight outta central casting
Jack Thompson
actual news
Liam Johnson
such legitical
Gabriel Brooks
can I do this same exact thing but with refusing to pay taxes until unfettered democratic socialism is instilled?
Evan Morgan
again
Christian Robinson
Hell yeah
Michael Sullivan
No shit (((they))) do a good job at it. They created it.
Unironically this. A few shekels to those jews is way less than the shekels that go to those other jews.
Sebastian Stewart
Its a necessary evil, unfortunately. Either you leave your money in the (((banks))) and trust (((governments))) or you have to trust the (((financial professionals))) to help you secure your wealth. So its a trade off. I rather have my money secured from austerity measures than unprotected, so I chose the ((financial professionals))).
