CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fl (WWSB) - Deputies in Charlotte County were called to North Shore Drive in Port Charlotte just after midnight on Thursday after a citizen called to report a man behaving suspiciously.
Deputies say the citizen reported hearing noise coming from the suspicious man. He saw the man walking around.
Deputies responded to the scene and saw one man standing in the area of North Shore and Melbourne. That’s when deputies say they heard noise coming from nearby bushes. That's when deputies realized that the man they saw standing in the area of North Shore and Melbourne was not as suspicious as the man making noise in the bushes.
Deputies ordered the man in the bushes to exit and say 29-year-old Eric Caterino came out and seemed very suspicious. He was then taken into custody with no injuries.
Deputies questioned the man about what he was doing making suspicious noises in the bushes, he stated that he thought the man standing near North Shore and Melbourne was suspicious, so he decided to hide in the bushes.
The caller provided a statement on his observations, including the suspicious man thinking that the other guy seemed suspicious.
One of the men was arrested for behaving suspiciously.
