BOISE, Idaho – Bump stocks — the attachment used by the killer during the 2017 Las Vegas massacre to make his weapons fire rapidly like machine guns — will become illegal in the U.S. next week.
It's the only major gun restriction imposed by the federal government in the past few years.
Owners of the devices are anxiously watching the legal wrangling and wondering what to do. Their options are to destroy the devices, turn them over to federal authorities or risk getting caught and face a felony.
Federal authorities have estimated there may be as many as 500,000 in circulation.
Either hand them over like pussies, or stand your ground and smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Don't hand them over. I know many gun owners who own these. Many who didn't, went out and managed to purchase one. I've talked to many gun shops and they have all said privately that they will not be handing theirs over. This is looking to be like New Jersey all over again. No serious gun owners is going to turn theirs in. I've interviewed several police officials and they all mentioned that they will not be cooperating with the federal gov't in this ban and will only confiscate and assist prosecution if the bump stock us used in the commission of a crime. The NRA officials have abandoned gun owners on this issue and they are being dealt with through the organization itself. I'm not sure Trump's game is here, but I don't appreciate his decision and many other don't either. It’s dangerous and unsafe. A bump stock is just a very unsafe rifle stock that makes the rifle less controllable by the user. It defies the design of the rifle, and in some cases can damage the rifle or injure the user.
Bump fires have been a known malfunction as long as metal cartridges have existed. But some retard decided to make a device that causes this malfunction every time you pull the trigger.
The average idiot with a gun will never understand this, and that is why I say they should be illegal. It has nothing to do with freedom, unless you value the freedom to endanger yourself because you’re too goddamn stupid to learn anything about guns before buying and using them.
If it was another issue like “a black rifle stock is a machine gun” or “a 30 round mag is a machine gun” then obviously my answer would be different.

Many owners won't do a damn thing because they were not registered. So the government will ONLY know they have them if they admit to owning them.
I predict about half will give them up willingly, another half no way.
This doesn't make the rifles themselves illegal, only a certain type of stock - which again - are not registered under law. Meaning it cannot easily be enforced.
