Don't forget that inertia is something that also applies to culture. Back then faceberg was still the norm, but the Snowden revelations planted the seeds of doubt in normalfags. What we're seeing is the flowering of that doubt combined people being generally fed up with faceberg for mental reasons. This could very well be the straw that broke the camel's back. I have experienced this many times in my life that it wasn't a major transgression that made me cut someone off, but an irritating act. The major trangressions just meant that he had after a while no margin.

Couldn't agree more. Like people left 4chan mainly because of the faggots all over the site but needed the drama push. Now it's hard to imagine that we spent so many years on that site.
Same with faceberg. I've heard people saying things like "I've had facebook for 10 years, why am I wasting my time?" which could be pretty great for people to escape the matrix.
