GNU Receives Cease and Decist Over the Letter "T"

lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnunet-developers/2018-05/msg00039.html

Pretty much, some eurocucks trademarked the letter "T" and threatened to sue over it.

I hate the judiciary system, it only serves to prevent anyone from obtaining justice. Couldn't GNU make the entity held responsible for these projects in some shithole so they can't effectively be sued in the real world? Like in North Korea or some gay island, so even if kikes bother suing you you can make the process take forever for a dozen peanuts or whatever norks use for currency.

Attached: copyrighteddonotcopy.gif (220x220, 14.17K)

They could still sue them in whatever country they hold the copyright in, meaning that they'd effectively need to create a new logo for each country. I actually think this is what happened here.

GNU is a detriment to the software economy as a whole.

German here. READ IT. IT'S FROM THE FUCKING TELEKOM.
Since they've no longer been part of the state all they do is ripping people off. You think they buy cables for internet traffic? No they just slow down the internet traffic. Many places have been with REALLY REALLY SLOW internet forever and tons of them still are.
They fucked over the entire German economy with their monopoly position.
Now have to wait till our new Führer Höcke fixes everything.
tl;dr their letter doesn't mean shit. You can't protect a letter let alone font in Germany and only fucking kikes say otherwise.

Are they even forced to defend?

It was trademark.
Typical GNU hysteria.

Also in case you were wondering.

They don't even resemble each other. They are completely different Ts. If GNUfags shit themselves over such generic letters, it's because they're sissies.

heh. Stallman isn't married.

What are you trying to say?

It's because they didn't want to spend the money to go to court. While convincing any normal person the two Ts are completely different takes less than a minute the judge will take months to be convinced, all the while you're burning cash to pay for his and your lawyer's coke habit.
GNU should've fought though, since they have some cash it's better to send a message of "we're crazy enough to blow 100k into a letter so don't fuck with us" than being known as an easy target. Cucking out only gets you bullied more.

The proprietary software economy, perhaps

I, too, have this question, except it's directed towards this entire thread and its completely unrelated GNU antagonisms.

Read the actual content.
wow fuck da police. The epayment service dindu nuffin.

You don't know English, do you user?

Look at the two t's and tell me: Are those two in any way similar, aside from the fact that they are both t's?
It's an entirely different font in an entirely different color, and the rest of the logo is entirely different as well.

wew lad

You mean other than they are two giant Ts?
Ok now you look at this:
and tell me whether you think this guy actually believes this or is he just lying.

Free software is so much better though.

Medicine is a detriment to the witchcraft economy as a whole.

You put a lot of effort into fucking dumb shit. What has GNU done to prevent any of that? Especially pop ads, faggot.

Telekom's logo is T with 1-3 dots on the sides. Without dots its not a trademark, don't believe them.

...

...

What a retarded system that is. Giant companies can use these bullshit suits to extort small companies who can't afford the legal fees.

More like Doutsche Telekom. They gonna get their asses handed to them and will be forced to pay all legal fees.

People use new software today because of a marketing campaign to encourage its adoption. This GNU software does not have such a slick marketing campaign. GNU has done the work it needs to do which is to develop the software. If other people don't use it, it's because they don't know about it or it's because they are not respecters of free software.

Free software doesn't have that bullshit, that doesn't stop proprietary software from doing something retarded. It provides a nice alternative.

Microsoft or bust =w=

I LOVE SUCKING COCKS

I can't even play my old disc games anymore because of SecuRom. The paying customer gets treated worse.

wat r u doin

Can you all please refrain from using a specific rune, I would be full of joy if you did.

copyright, trademark, etc are cancer. they are the socialism of capitalist societies

Then stop paying them money, problem solved. Leech internet off neighbours, go to cafes and take up their seats. Destroy consumerism. Meanwhile, real white men will eventually make their own internet (such as meshnet).

what do you mean? they were able to get a lawsuit for these two logos which look nothing alike, so of course any two lines crossing would also be able to get a lawsuit. the post _does_ contain other hyperbole though. just not the part you quoted

they didn't make sites with popups, malware, DRM (which is effectively malware), etc

...

absolutely the same problem here with british telecom, exactly the same privatization and probably by the same people.

use a spin off or a competitor it may be the same lines but at least you aren't cucking out.

Here they even rigged the allocation of eu funds for broadband and then spent the money financing a shitty cable tv service which leeches off the bandwith upgrade paid for by eu taxpayers money.

"BT has all but been handed the last remaining BDUK contracts as its revealed that Fujitsu has pulled out of the bidding race.

A statement from a Fujitsu spokesperson confirmed that the Japanese company intended to respectfully bow out of BDUK:

“Various conditions surrounding the BDUK process, which we have discussed with the DCMS, effectively rule Fujitsu out of the competition for new areas. So while we remain supportive of the process and its objectives, we are not actively pursuing opportunities within it.” "

It was fucking rigged.

"BT Sport is a group of sports television channels provided by BT Consumer; a division of BT Group in the United Kingdom and Ireland that was launched on 1 August 2013. The channels are based at the former International Broadcast Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.[1][2] BT Sport is available on the BT TV, Sky and Virgin Media television platforms in the UK and Sky, Eir TV and Vodafone TV in the Republic of Ireland."

hurr durr i want two choices like a dumb idiot

use a decent proxy list

It was trademark. It's really surprising that GNU fags don't know this. Because in my experience GNU fags are really really insightful about copyright. So insightful that they can use a copyright license to prevent copyright licenses or something... it's kinda confusing but very educated people told me that's how it works.

Congratulations, you now know how free software has worked for the past five decades.

It's actually very hard to accede your copyright to a piece of software. Even CC0 is still technically copyright.

intellectual "property" was a mistake

Attached: kinsella_stephan.jpg (240x227, 10.3K)

This. The sooner IP law is thrown out the sooner we can create a sane way of creators to get paid while the public benefits.

Attached: lettert.webm (480x360, 13.01M)

Reminder: (((Intellectual Property))) doesn't exist. It's a scheme to conflate trademark, patent, an copyright laws, three completely different things with completely different rules and regulations, into one easy to abuse lump. Stallman had a good essay on this, it's worth a read.
gnu.org/philosophy/not-ipr.en.html

THIS

So using the letter T can get me sued now?
Fuck, better stop using the alphabet all together.

Still sounds like a bullshit lawsuit, but that logo is crap anyway. The logo for GNU Thaler should be the head face of a Maria Theresa thaler with her head swapped for a gnu's head.

not if your words are worthless

oh gee where have I heard this before

what fucking universe are you living in?

The GNU Genocide has begun.

So do they also have the christian cross trademarked as well then if this counts? Time to start mailing out copies of their cease and desist letters to everyone else in Germany to cause a scandal.

Nothing hurts a telcom more than their reputation getting bullied and nothing does that better than a whole bunch of confusion surrounding fake cease and desist letters. Make it a national joke. Any T in any logo, any crossed lines.
